Zombie Army Trilogy is a third-person tactical shooter with stealth elements. The game was originally released in 2013 as DLC for Sniper Elite V2, and was revamped as a standalone in 2015. Players arm themselves with weapons familiar during the WWII such as sniper rifles and other firearms, as well as explosive devices, to defeat enemies. The game includes online co-op modes for both the main campaign, as well as a Horde mode in which players must work together to defeat enemies in waves.
Towards the end of World War II, Adolf Hitler decides to execute Plan-Z which resurrects the Wehrmacht, the Nazi defense force. An OSS operative, a Red Army infantryman, a Wehrmacht Captain, and a German oculist are forced to work together to stop the zombie army.
Both the original DLC and new standalone version of Zombie Army Trilogy received mixed reviews with an average score of 66%, praised for its co-op function and overall fun, though criticized for its sound, technical issues, and overall feeling dated.
The difficulty factor for Zombie Army Trilogy entirely depends not only your own skills, but those of your co-op partners. A required playthrough on the hardest difficulty mode can be quite challenging when done solo, but much easier with one or two co-op partners with decent skills. There are collectibles to fine, and kill-related trophies to grind for, but with the chapter select, nothing is missable. One or two online trophies can be easily gotten through boosting, if your co-op partner is willing to help you out.
Overall, expect around 35-40 hours for the Platinum, depending on yours and your co-op partners skills.
You'll need to complete the game on Sniper Elite difficulty, which is the hardest mode, in order to unlock the This Calls For Divine Intervention trophy. Sniper Elite difficulty is available from the start, so if you don't want to waste much time on your road to the Platinum, we recommend starting here.
This is doable, but quite challenging, if playing solo. We recommend finding a few co-op players to help you. The Enemy Spawn can be set to One Player which basically means you'll be playing the solo campaign but with co-op partners to help you. You'll need to play at least one chapter in the Campaign in 4-player co-op anyway for the You're So Dead You Don't Even Know It trophy.
Along the way, you'll earn a number of story-related trophies. There are also collectibles to find, however you can worry about those later with the chapter select, if you prefer.
Once you've finished your Sniper Elite difficulty playthrough, it's time to mop up the remaining offline trophies using the chapter select. This includes finding all 75 gold bars for the Just In Case We Make It trophy, all 60 bottles of blood for the They Must Be Destroyed On Sight trophy, all the kill-related trophies, and a few other miscellaneous ones. These can be done on Cadet mode to make things easier. Be sure to check out the Zombie Army Trilogy trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you still need, and their requirements.
Finally, there are the Horde mode related trophies. Your ultimate goal here, is to complete Wave 10 on each of the different maps. There are two trophies which might be easier if boosted: the Guts And Glory trophy for reaching Wave 10 with more gold medals than your partners, and the I'll Teach Ya How To Shoot trophy for reaching Wave 10 with the highest score. If your skills tend to be lacking compared with your co-op partners, you could request to boost these.
