XCOM 2

XCOM 2 is a turn-based strategy game, and a sequel to the 2012 reboot XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Players give commands to squad members engaged in battle with aliens, in addition to advancing engineering and research in order to improve weapons and technologies. The game also includes online multiplayer matches.

Taking place 20 years following the events of Enemy Unknown, the XCOM military organization has lost the fight against the alien invasion, and is reduced to a resistance force battling against the Earth take-over. After the Commander has been rescued from alien stasis, XCOM begins their assault against the aliens in a desperate move to take back the planet.

XCOM 2 received positive reviews with an average score of 88%, praised for its improvements over the previous installment, replayability, and challenge, though criticized by some for technical issues.

Despite receiving the same 4-star difficulty rating as the previous installment, XCOM 2 is arguably more difficult than XCOM: Enemy Unknown. A minimum of four playthroughs under difficult conditions is required, though players new to the series may require even more. While the Platinum is certainly doable, it requires much time, as well as strategy, patience, and plenty of trial and error.

Expect well over 100 hours of gameplay, even for veteran XCOM players.

To start things off, go ahead and play through the tutorial, which will unlock the First Blood trophy. Once you've gotten the trophy, it's a good idea to quit, delete the save file, and start your playthrough with the tutorial disabled. This is because you will lose lives during the tutorial which will cancel out getting The Untouchables trophy which requires beating the game without losing a life.

Now, there are two ways you can go about getting this Platinum; by either doing two playthroughs, or a minimum of four. Each playthrough will last between 25-30 hours. Getting the Platinum in two is only recommended to veteran XCOM players, and even then it will still be challenging.

If you wish to finish the game in two playthroughs, then your first will need to be on Legend difficulty with Ironman enabled, and without losing any lives. This will unlock both the Defender Of Humanity and Immortal Commander trophy for completing the game on Legend difficulty, the Valhalla trophy for beating the game with Ironman mode enabled (which autosaves during your playthrough) and The Untouchables trophy for beating the game without losing any lives.

During your second playthrough, focus on beating the game before July 1st for the Exquisite Timing trophy, avoid purchasing a Squad Size upgrade for The Few And The Proud trophy, and beat the final mission with only conventional gear for the Who Needs Tygan trophy.

However, if you wish to make things easier rather than quicker, than we recommend four playthroughs. In this case, your first playthrough should be on Commander difficulty and focusing on getting The Untouchables trophy. Your second playthrough, again on Commander difficulty, and beating the game by July 1 for the Exquisite Timing trophy. Your third playthrough should be still on Commander difficulty but with Ironman enabled for the Valhalla trophy. Finally, your fourth playthrough should be on Legend difficulty for the Immortal Commander trophy.

Once all those playthroughs are complete, it's simply a matter of mopping-up anything you may be missing. This may include completing an online match for The Most Dangerous Game trophy. PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2018

It may have taken awhile for the announcement, but to be fair, the first Tuesday of June is almost a week away. After much anticipation, Sony has announced their next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games June 2018 which will be available for download on Tuesday, June 5.

On the PlayStation 4, there’s the turn-based tactics game XCOM 2, in which the military, after losing the war against an alien invasion, has dwindled down to a resistance group. And Trials Fusion, a platforming racer where players control a motorcycle in a physics-based 2D setting, avoiding obstacles and hazards on the way to the finish line.

For the PlayStation 3, there’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the third-person cover-based tactical shooter that places highly trained special-ops soldiers in dangerous warzones, set in the near future. And Zombie Driver HD: Complete Edition, a top-down vehicular combat game set during a zombie apocalypse, where players use a variety of vehicles and weapons to take down hoards of the undead.

And on the PlayStation Vita, there’s Atomic Ninjas, an online multiplayer action platformer game in which players battle players and bots using a range of ninja weapons and gadgets. And Squares, a puzzle game where players need to change grey squares into blue against the clock.

Among the PlayStation Plus free games June 2018, XCOM 2, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and Zombie Driver HD: Complete Edition, have Platinum trophies to unlock. Among these, Zombie Driver HD is by far the easier of the three, requiring about 18 hours of playing. Meanwhile, both XCOM 2 and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier have fairly challenging Platinums that require roughly 100 hours.

Also, Atomic Ninjas is rather easy and not too time consuming to unlock 100% of the trophies, particularly if you have plenty of spare controllers or boosting partners.
