Darksiders II Deathfinitive Edition

Darksiders II Deathfinitive Edition is an improved version of the original 2012 Darksiders II released on the PS3, ported onto the PlayStation 4 in 2015 which includes all the DLC as well as removes the online features. The game is an action hack-and-slash with RPG elements, and a sequel to the 2010 Darksiders.

As the End of Days fast approaches, the most feared member of the Four Horsemen, Death, sets out to stop Armageddon from happening. During his quest, Death learns that an ancient evil lurks which can threaten all of Creation.

The original Darksiders II recieved positive reviews with an average score of 83%, praised for its graphics and environments, story, and overall fun gameplay.

This is a high 2-star rating. While the game is rather average in terms of difficulty, you'll need a fair bit of time to work your way towards the Platinum. At least one full playthrough is required if starting on Deathinitive mode, with plenty of cleaning up afterwards.

Expect around 40-50 hours of gameplay for the Platinum, depending on the number of playthroughs you do, and skills.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 have a separate list from those on the PS3.

All the online has been removed from the PS4 version, including the Pay It Forward trophy. Instead, we have an added It's Definitive trophy which requires a playthrough on Deathinitive mode, the hardest. So, if you're in a rush for that Platinum, we recommend beginning there.

Deathinitive mode isn't too difficult, and if you're having any trouble, check out the walkthroughs and guides under our Links tab. However, starting on Deathinitive means you won't be beginning with any skills or weapon upgrades. So if you prefer the easier, but much longer route, than start a playthrough on an easier mode.

While you'll be unlocking a number of story-related trophies along the way, it's up to you if you wish to obtain the others during this step, or wait until you've completed the game. There is nothing missable, so long as you select NOT New Game+, but instead continue on the same save which allows you to go back and complete anything you're still missing.

Whether you do them during your first playthrough or after, you'll eventually need to find all the collectibles, which includes opening all the Death Tombs for the Abracadabra trophy, the four garden gnomes and obtaining the SnoMAD Scythes for the Gnomad trophy, 25 Lost Relics for the Antiquing trophy, and all the different Stonebites for the All You Can Eat Buffet trophy. You'll also want to complete all the side quests, and a few other miscellaneous trophies. Be sure to check out the Darksiders II Deathfinitive Edition trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details.

Once all that is finished, you can safely start up a New Game+ on Easy mode, where you simply play through in order to reach level 30 for the Epic! trophy.

Lastly, there's the Crucible to complete, for the Bravo Old Chap and Is There Anyone Else? trophies, where you will need to fend off 100 waves of enemies. If you leave this for last, the it shouldn't be too difficult now that you've got some powerful weapons and have completely leveled up.

Darksiders

Darksiders is a third-person, hack-and-slash, action adventure. Players engage in combat, as well as solve puzzles while exploring new locations as they become accessible during the course of the game.

Heaven and Hell have been raging war since the dawn of creation, and now the Apocalypse has finally begun. Demons and angels battle over the Earth, destroying everything in their path. Players control War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who is attempting to interfere with the final battle in order to restore balance and save the fabric of the universe.

Darksiders received generally positive reviews, with an average score of 84%, praised for its great combat, talented voice acting, and possessing a high replay value.

Not a particularly long game, and requires only average playing skills. The majority of the trophies are either story-related or involve collectibles, as well as a few kill-related ones. Quite possible to complete and acquire the platinum in one playthrough, so long as you start on the hardest difficulty mode, which isn't too hard.

Overall, expect to put in around 25 hours of your time into this one.

If you're in a rush for that Platinum, then start your game on Apocalyptic, which is the highest difficulty setting. Otherwise, you can first enjoy playing on Normal and focus on finding all the collectibles and gathering the kill-related trophies with ease, first. However, take note that there is no New Game+, which means nothing will carry over into your next playthrough, including any collectibles you already found.

As long as you've completed everything before the final boss, you are free to backtrack to previous locations in order to mop-up anything you missed. However, there are four missable trophies: Open Air Parking, High Flier, Aerial Predator, and Who's Counting? Check out the Darksiders trophy guide links under our Links tab for further details, and make sure you collect these when the time comes. Don't be afraid of making saves along the way which you can re-track back to in case you miss them. Also, you will need to keep an eye out for the Fury's Embrace enhancement, as well.

As we mentioned, you will be able to backtrack and mop-up anything you missed, so long as it's before the final boss battle. If you're still missing some trophies when you're reaching the end of the game, make sure you make a save immediately after forging the "Ultimate Blade."
