Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is a fighting game and the third installment of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, based on the Naruto manga series. The game includes characters from the previous two installments, as well as newly introduced ones for a total of 72 characters and 15 supporting ones. The battle system has been improved for faster gameplay, and now includes a Beast Mode where characters change into a beast with more powerful attacks. Players can also use collectible cards to unlock new content as well as gain advantages in battle.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations received generally positive reviews with an average score of 74%, praised for its improvements to the gameplay, and graphics and presentation that replicate the manga and anime series well, though criticized by some for its shallow gameply and lacking in difficulty.
The game requires just enough skill and time to mark the difficulty rating an even 2-star. The only real grind will be performing the various things required for unlocking 80% of the Ninja Info Card images for the Card Collection Master trophy. Also, while there are no online trophies, winning online is one method for working towards unlocking the cards. Finally, while it's certainly possible to unlock the platinum without a second controller, having one will make some trophies a little easier.
Expect roughly 20 hours of actual gameplay, plus another 10 hours of leaving the game idle, for the Platinum.
If you're new to the series, you might first want to jump into the Training mode to learn the game's controls and mechanics.
Once you feel you're ready, we recommend starting with the Story mode, as doing so will unlock all the characters which will be required later. As you play through and complete each of the Tales in Story mode, you will unlock more playable Tales, as well as a number of story-related trophies. Also, during this step, you should be able to get the First S Rank trophy, the First Shopping trophy for buying something in the Shop for the first time, and the Wealthy Ninja trophy for earning an accumulation of 1 million Ryo.
Next, you can start up the Tournament mode, where there are 13 trophies to unlock. Tournament mode is not too difficult, and even easier if you use the handicap glitch, which reduces the damage you receive and increases the damage you do to your opponents. To do this, head into Free Battle and select Versus in a 1P vs Com battle in ether Team or Single. Then his Square and set the Timer to 99, the Difficulty to Super Easy, and move the Handicap Bar all the way to the right. Then play and finish the battle, return to the Free Battle mode select screen, and choose Tournament. Make sure to select the same Team or Single, whichever you used for the 1P vs Com battle, and the settings should remain the same.
After completing the Tournament mode, you can head into Survival to unlock the 6 survival-related trophies. Survival is more challenging than Tournament, but still quite easy if you use the above-mentioned handicap glitch.
Finally, you're left with mopping-up what's remaining, many of the trophies which you can unlock in Free Battle mode. Most likely, the last one you will need to put effort into will be the Card Collection Master trophy, where you need 80% of the Ninja Info Card images. It should be noted that inputting any codes you find on other websites to unlock cards will NOT add to the percentage. You can earn cards by combining specific characters into special teams, unlocking characters' support types, or if necessary, getting online wins. Check out the boosting forums under our Links tab if that's the route you wish to take.
If after doing all this you still haven't unlocked the Game Master trophy for playing a total of 30 hours, you can leave the game idle on the main menu. Once you've reached the 30 hour mark, play a quick battle and the trophy - along with the Platinum - will unlock.
