Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV is an open-world action-RPG, and the fifteenth main installment in the Final Fantasy series which began on the NES in 1987. Players in a party of four travel together across the world of Eos either on foot, by car, or riding the chocobo birds, while battling randomly encountered enemies and bosses. Fighting uses a real-time, action-based battle system where the main character can select among four weapons or magic, attack while also dodging or warping, while issuing selective commands to teammates.

On the Earth-like world of Eos, Noctis, the crown prince, is sent on a journey with his three friends to the city of Altissia, where he is to marry the princess Lunafrey. However, along the way, the Niflheim Empire attacks Noctis' homeland and kills his father, King Regis. Noctis and his friends must find a way to rescue the princess and bring peace back to his homeland.

Final Fantasy XV received fairly positive reviews, with an average score of 83%, praised for its graphics, presentation, and detail, though criticized by some for its simplistic combat system and, at times, linear scenarios.

Compared with some of the previous Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy XV doesn't require a whole lot of grinding, nor are there any missable trophies. Simply play through the game, complete it, then enter free roam to mop-up anything you missed. While some battles may require a bit more skill than in previous titles due to the change in style, it's nothing any average gamer can't handle.

Expect roughly 55-65 hours of gameplay for the Platinum.

For the most part, there are no missable trophies to worry about. The only trophy you should be concerned about is the Chosen King, for which you'll need to defeat Ifrit on Normal difficulty mode in Chapter 14. If you are playing on Easy, just make sure to switch to Normal before Ifrit's HP reaches 20%. However, if you're playing the game on Normal mode anyway, than you have nothing to worry about.

For the Weaving A Tapestry trophy, you'll need to complete a total of 80 sidequests. However, there are roughly 120 side quests in the game, which means you aren't required to do all of them. Yet, as any seasoned RPG player will know, it's always a good idea to work on these as they become available in order to boost your stats. This also includes doing Hunts, which are great for getting Gil.

You'll also want to work towards reaching the maximum levels of fishing, survival, photography, and cooking, during the course of your gameplay. This is done by simply catching lots of fish at the fishing spots, traveling on foot for survival, resting each evening for photography, and camping for the cooking level. Boosting each of the four skills to their maximum of Level 10 will unlock each of their respective trophies.

Once you complete the main story, you'll enter Free Roam, where you can mop-up any trophies you may be missing. This will also unlock a few extra quests, as well.

Have fun!

Final Fantasy X HD

Final Fantasy X HD is a J-RPG first released on the PlayStation 2 in 2001, then remastered in HD and ported onto the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in 2013, and again onto the PlayStation 4 in 2015. Taking place in the fantasy world of Spira, a large landmass divided into three subcontinents and surrounded by smaller islands, players navigate the main character Tidus to explore as well as interact with people and objects, while controlling up to four members in the part during turn-based battles with enemies.

Tidus is a bitzball sports star, and the son of the famous player Jecht, living in the high-tech metropolis of Zanarkand. During a blitzball tournament, the city is attacked by a massive creature named Sin. After Zenarkand is destroyed, Tidus finds himself transported to Spira, where he must help his newfound friends to find a way to destroy Sin once and for all.

The original Final Fantasy X released on the PlayStation 2 received critical acclaim with an average score of 93%, praised for its graphics, storyline, innovative character building system and battle system, and considered by some critics to be the best game in the Final Fantasy series thus far.

The main reason for the 3-star difficulty rating is for the time required in completing both the game and all the requirements for the platinum. There are a few tricky trophies as well, such as Lightning Dancer for dodging 200 lightning strikes, and Chocobo Rider for winning a race with a time of zero. Players who have already experienced Final Fantasy X on the PlayStation 2 will of course have an easier time, since they'll be familiar with the mechanics of the game, as well as know what to do and where to go.

Expect roughly 100 hours for the platinum, depending on whether this is your first time or not.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 version share the same list as those on both the PS3 and PS Vita.

You'll first want to simply play through and enjoy the game from start to finish. However, you will need to pay attention to the Master Linguist trophy, which is the only missable one in the game. This requires you to obtain all 26 Al Bhed Primers which are scattered throughout Spira, of which the following four are located in areas that you cannot access later in the game: XIX located at the Al Bhed Home before entering, XX at the Al Bhed Home in the living quarters, XXI at the Al Bhed Home in the main corridor, and XXII at the Bevelle Temple in the Priest's Passage. As long as you find these four, you should be safe from having to replay the game.

Once you've finished the game and collected all the story-related trophies, as well as a few miscellaneous ones, you'll have access to the airship which will allow you to travel to most areas in the game. Take note however, that some locations will have a Dark Aeon guarding it and will require you to defeat it. It's at this point where you'll want to mop-up all the sidequests, collect all the aeons, all the celestial weapons and the necessary items to upgrade them, as well as those trophies related to playing blitzball and chocobo races.

With that done, it's time for some grinding in the Monster Arena to max out the Sphere Grid. There are four trophies to unlock here, with your main goal being the Perfect Sphere Master trophy.

Finally, it's time to defeat the super bosses which should naturally be the last feat to accomplish. There are six trophies in total to unlock regarding the super bosses, three of which you may have already obtained previously. Your ultimate goal will be eventually defeating Nemesis for the Overcoming The Nemesis gold trophy.

Lastly, if there are still any trophies you missed, now would be the time to mop them up for the platinum. Don't forget to watch the Eternal Calm video at the main menu for The Eternal Calm trophy.

PlayStation VR Sales at Over 900,000

In case you’ve been wondering whether Sony‘s virtual headset has been seeing any success or is going the way of the PlayStation Vita, a recent press release by Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that it seems to be the former. As of February 19, 2017, the PlayStation VR has reached over 915,000 units sold worldwide. This is quite an impressive number, and perhaps not surprising to anyone living in such regions where the PS VR has been sold-out since its launch in October last year.

“Since its October launch, PS VR continues to be well received by people around the world thanks to the high quality, revolutionary VR experience it offers,” stated Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “With more than 53.4 million PS4 units sold through globally we firmly believe PlayStation VR will take the lead position in the VR market. We are increasing production to meet demand and will continuously support content developers as they create innovative VR experiences that are only possible on PlayStation.”

In addition, Sony also announced that there are currently over 220 software titles and content in development for the PS VR, such as Ace Combat 7 and Tekken 7 by Bandai Namco, and Final Fantasy XV by Square Enix. Sony estimates there will be over 100 new software titles and experiences released by the end of 2017.
