Metal Slug Anthology

Metal Slug Anthology is a compilation of the Metal Slug games 1-6, as well as Metal Slug X, unaltered from their originals except for HD graphics and trophy support added. The games are run and gun side-scrollers in which players fire at a constant stream of enemies, making their way to the boss of each level. Aside from using melee attacks and a variety of different weapons, players can find tanks known as Super Vehicles. Players also run into POWs which, when freed, can offer bonuses such as weapons or random items.

Set in the future, the Peregrine Falcon Strike Force are sent to stop the evil General Morden and his rebel army from taking over the world.

Metal Slug Anthology received positive reviews with an average score of 78%, praised for its high action and nostalgic fun.

This would have been a 3-star rating, if not for a second controller trick. As a result, the game and its trophies are average in terms of difficulty, but the Platinum can be earned quite quickly – as long as the second controller trick is implemented. Also, there are no missable nor online trophies to worry about.

If using the second controller trick, the Platinum can be earned in under 10 hours. Playing this legitimately will take far, far longer.

Start by playing through each of the games. If you want to make things easier, head into Game Options and set the difficulty to Easy, and set the continues to Free Play.

There are a number of miscellaneous trophies related to each of the games which you can go for now, if you wish. Be sure to check out the details on each from the Metal Slug Anthology trophy guide links under our Links tab. However, you can always go back and get them later if you wish to simply play through the games first.

Once you’ve finished each of the games and gotten all the miscellaneous trophies, it’s time to replay each of them again, this time using only 5 continues for their respective trophy. Doing this legitimately is very challenging. However, there is a technique you can use with a second controller.

Have a second controller activated. Once you lose your life with the Player 1, press Start by touching the right side of the touch-pad on the second controller. Now, you’ll be able to play as Player 2. When Player 2 dies, do the same on the first controller to play as Player 1 again. Just make sure to hit Start before the timer runs out, and you’ll be able to complete each game without needing a Continue.

King of Fighters XIII Trophy Guide

King of Fighters XIII Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ***  Arguably more challenging than its predecessor. Requires a lot of skill for a few trophies. Online trophies are quite difficult without boosting.

King of Fighters XIII

The King of Fighters XIII is a 2D fighting game, and the thirteenth installment in The King of Fighters series which began in 1994 on the Neo Geo. The game includes a roster of over 30 characters, and while removing the Guard Attack, Critical Counter, and Clash System used in the earlier title, the game instead includes the EX Mode which converts a character's super moves into more powerful ones, the Drive Cancel which allows for new combos, and the Hyper Drive mode which enables unlimited use of Drive Cancels for a set period of time. The game is set following the events of The King of Fighters XI, and concludes the Ash Crimson story arc.

The King of Fighters XIII received positive reviews with an average score of 80%, praised for its visual style, the increased roster, and won several Game Awards and nominations.

This is a high 3-star rating. The King of Fighters XIII is arguably more difficult than its predecessor, mainly due to the skills required. While the majority of the trophies are rather straight forward and not too difficult, particularly for those with experience in the King of Fighters series, completing 200 trials in Trial mode is what will truly make or break your chances of obtaining the Platinum.

Expect roughly 30-40 hours, though this largely depends on your skills, as well as whether or not you are boosting the online trophies.

If you've played fighting games before, than you're probably familiar with the fact that the trophies can be earned in any order of your choosing. However, if you're in need of some direction, we recommend starting with the Tutorial and complete both the Basic and Gauge system. This will not only teach you the mechanics and controls of the game, but also unlock the You're Not So Bad trophy.

You can also customize your team, icon, and message to nab the It's About Time To Start trophy, then create 10 characters in Customize for the Here I Come Buddy trophy.

Working through and completing 100% of the Story mode will unlock both the Let's See What You've Got and Do You Understand Now? trophies. The choices you make during the story mode will affect which scenes you view, and you need all of them to get 100%. Check out the story mode scenes guide under our Links tab for further details.

Next, there are a number of Arcade mode related trophies. You'll need to get an SS at the victory screen to unlock both the Time Will Soon Turn To Ashes and After All You're Just Trash trophies. Others include a lot of grinding, such as for performing a set number of Cancels and special moves. Check out The King of Fighters XIII trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details.

Then, clearing Time Attack mode with 30 characters will earn you the You Can't Compare To me trophy, as well as the Looks Like I Was Just On Time trophy automatically.

In the Survival mode, defeating 35 characters will net you the I'm Enough For This Job trophy, as well as the I Will Execute My Mission trophy automatically.

Saving the hardest for last, is the Yes! I'm The Best trophy for clearing 200 trials in Trial mode. This is arguably the most difficult trophy in the game. Check out some of the guides and videos under our Links tab for assistance. Once you've gotten this trophy out of the way, the rest is all downhill.

Finally, simply mop-up any trophies you still have remaining.

At any point you can head online and work on the 13 online trophies. Doing these legitimately will require both skill and some luck, though they can be boosted as well. Check out the boosting forums under our Links tab if you're looking for a partner.

Good luck!

King of Fighters XII Trophy Guide

King of Fighters XII

King of Fighters XII is a 2D fighting game, and the twelfth installment in The King of Fighters series which began in 1994 on the Neo Geo. The game includes a roster of 22 playable characters, and introduces the Critical Counter system which allows for linking multiple attacks when the vitality if full, the Guard Attack in which fighters intercept and strike an opponent's hit, and the Clash system where opponents are separated into a neutral position if characters hit one another with matched timing.

King of Fighters XII received mediocre reviews with an average score of 62%, praised for its graphics and new game mechanics, though criticized for some of its removed features, and its poor online mode.

The game can be challenging, but not overly difficult - especially for those with experience in fighting games. The 3-star rating is mainly due to the time involved. You will need to play a total of 1,400 online matches, and win 100 of them. Even with a boosting partner, this will certainly take a large chunk out of your time. In addition, you will need at least two playthroughs with each of the 22 characters in Arcade mode.

Expect well over 100 hours for the Platinum.

King of Fighters XII doesn't require much of a roadmap, as the Trophies are fairly straightforward without requiring any particular order for completion. However, be sure to check out the King of Fighters XII trophy guide links under our Links tab if you're having trouble with anything, or simply need some tips.

Essentially, your road towards the Platinum is divided into two paths. One is the offline, where you will need to play the Arcade mode with each character twice. There is a respected trophy for having KO'ed every character with each character, as well as the Perfect Fighter trophy for having KO'ed everyone with everyone. Since each game of Arcade mode allows you to fight 15 characters per playthrough, and you will need to fight a total of 22, you will have to play Arcade mode twice. Feel free to set the options to Easy mode for this. In addition, there is the Speed King trophy for clearing Arcade mode in under 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

The other path towards the Platinum is online, where you will need to play a total of 1,400 online matches for the RANK SSS trophy, and win 100 matches for the Legend trophy. If you're looking for a boosting partner, check out the boosting forums under our Links tab. Though even with a partner, this will still take quite a fair bit of time.

Good luck!
