Rio

Rio is based on the 2011 animated film of the same name, about a domesticated bird named Blu who finds himself in Rio de Janeiro filled with adventure. The game is in the party genre, similar to the Mario Party series, where players can play as either Blue or other characters such as Jewel or his friends, competing in various mini-games such as dodging soccer balls or collecting tropical fruits.

Rio received lukewarm reviews, with an average score of 67%, praised for being a simple but relatively fun party game aimed at children with easy controls.

As you can expect from a game targeting younger players, the platinum for Rio is not particularly difficult. While coming in first place in all Party mode mini-games on Hard can be a bit frustrating at times, and getting 200 first-places in the mini-games is a bit of a grind, the Platinum is overall fairly easy and can be obtained in around 12-14 hours or so.

NOTE: You will need 4 controllers to unlock the Multiplayer Master trophy.

To make things quick and easy, you can start by plugging in three controllers, then select Story Mode on Easy difficulty. Now, with three humans and one CPU, just make sure you come in first in each of the mini-games. This will unlock the Story Superstar trophy, as well as Happily Ever After and A Good Start.

After that, you can start playing through the Party Mode and unlock all its associated trophies. This includes Vs, Team, Vs Quiz, and Team Quiz. Check out the Rio trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details on what you need for each individual trophy.

For the Carnaval Dance games, you'll need to come in first on both the Standard and Crazy versions, to unlock Follow The Leader and Crazy Champion respectively. This is easily done with four controllers.

For Carnaval Wheel, you'll need to come in first place to unlock the Wheel Winner trophy, and score over 700 points in total for the Star Spinner trophy. Again, having four controllers makes this easy.

For Garland Gala, there are three levels of difficulty, which you'll need to complete in order to unlock the Garland Gala Novice, Garland Gala Pro, and Garland Gala Guru trophies.

Finally, it's time for your Hard mode run on the Party Mode. An easy way to do this, is to select all 40 mini-games in Vs, and use four controllers. Then, just before the game ends, disconnect one of the controllers in order to change the human player to a CPU, which will allow you to get the gold. Do this for all 40 mini-games, and you'll have the Party Perfection trophy.

After that, if there are any trophies you happen to be missing, simply mop-up and enjoy your new Platinum.
