PlayStation Plus Free Games May 2018

It’s that time of the month again, where Sony unveils their next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games May 2018, which will be available for download on Tuesday, May 1.

For the PlayStation 4, there’s Beyond: Two Souls, the revamp of the original PS3 title by the creators of Heavy Rain, an interactive adventure about a young woman named Jodie and her incorporeal entity Aiden. And Rayman Legends, a platformer featuring Rayman and his friends who must fight the spreading monsters and save the Glade of Dreams.

On the PlayStation 3, there’s Eat Them!, where players create their own monsters and head off on a rampage. And Risen 3: Titan Lords, the 2015 RPG in which the Nameless Hero must battle hordes of enemies in a world abandoned by its gods and suffering from the rampaging Titans.

Finally, for the PlayStation Vita, there’s Furmins, the physics-based puzzle game originally released for the iOS, where players must help the fuzzy Furmins reach their goals. And King Oddball, a puzzle game somewhat in style to Angry Birds, featuring over 120 levels. King Oddball is a cross-plat with both the PS3 and PS4.

Among the free games for May 2018, Beyond: Two Souls, Rayman Legends, and Risen 3: Titan Lords have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Between the three, Beyond: Two Souls is by far the easiest, though will require a few playthroughs and 25-30 hours of your time. Also, both Eat Them! and Furmins are not too difficult with a guide, each requiring roughly 8 hours to unlock 100% of the trophies.

Rayman Origins

Rayman Origins is a side-scrolling platform game, and part of the Rayman series which first appeared on the Atari Jaguar in 1995. Players make their way through each level, freeing imprisoned Electoons while fighting enemies. The game includes up to 4-player co-op, selecting from different characters, and unlocked costumes.

An old granny from the Land of the Livid Dead has sent her army of creatures and Darktoons to capture the Electoon inhabitants of the world after being disturbed by Rayman and his friend's snoring. Rayman must help the Bubble Dreamer and restore the Glade of Dreams back to its peaceful state.

Rayman Origins received very positive reviews, with an average score of 88%, praised for its presentation, level design, and overall fun.

This difficulty rating really depends on your skills, and for some, could be a high 2-star rating, or possibly even a 3-star. The trophies are straight forward, requiring one full playthrough and finding some collectibles. But completing all the Time Trials, as well as the final bonus level, can very challenging and frustrating.

Expect roughly around 25-35 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills.

Your first order of business is to play through the game. If you wish to get that Platinum quickly, then follow one of the collectible guides under our Links tab to find all the Hidden Cages and Skull Teeth. There are also a few skill-related trophies, which you can either worry about now, or later.

Once that's finished, you can go back and perform the Time Trials. This is where the game gets difficult, as some of these can be quite frustrating. Just keep practicing and be patient.

After that, you can mop-up anything you're still missing. This might include the Nothing Lasts Forever trophy, which is for completing the bonus level that unlocks after collecting all 10 skull teeth. This is not an easy level, so again, just be patient and keep practicing.
