Ratchet and Clank

Ratchet & Clank is a third-person action platformer, and a re-imagined of the original game first published in 2002 for the PlayStation 2, with improved visuals and added cut-scenes. Players control Ratchet during the largest portion of the game during platforming and action sequences, while at other times controlling Clank to solve environmental puzzles, while also performing races in the form of hoverboards, and aerial combat in spaceships. Players can acquire and upgrade an assortment of weapons gadgets.

Ratchet is working as a mechanic when he encounters a warbot who escaped a factory. Naming him Clank, Ratchet agrees to assist the warbot in warning the Galactic Rangers of the army of warbots being created.

The re-imagined 2016 Ratchet & Clank received positive reviews with an average score of 83%, praised for its visuals, environments, gameplay, and overall fun.

This is a low 2-star rating. The game is not particularly difficult, especially if you select to play on Easy mode. At least two playthroughs are required, and there are collectibles to find. While a few hoverboard races may prove tricky for some, they are not too difficult for any average gamer. Overall, Ratchet & Clank is a reasonably straight-forward game that just requires a little time.

Expect roughly 20-25 hours for the Platinum, depending on how much more you need to play after your two playthroughs.

You'll need to do 2 playthroughs for the Platinum: one regular, and a second on Challenge Mode.

For your first playthrough, feel fre to select Easy mode, as there are no difficulty-related trophies. Also, you needn't worry about the collectibles right now, as they'll be easier to find in your second playthrough with the Map-O-Matic, if you wish to avoid backtracking.

However, be mindful of the four misable trophies. These include the Safecracker trophy for completing all 16 Trespasser puzzles without using AutoHack (these can be backtracked to, as long as you avoid hitting the Square button to AutoHack), the Not My Job trophy for allowing the extermibots to kill 35 amoeboids in Rilgar, the When Sheep Fly trophy for sheepinating a Blarg helicopter commander, and the Death By Disco trophy.

Regarding the Death By Disco trophy, you'll need to use the Groovitron on all 48 types of enemies, so use it as often as possible. Your progress will carry over in the Challenge Mode playthrough, allowing for a second chance with any missed enemies.

Finally, make sure to spend time leveling up those weapons to unlock the Master Of War trophy, to save time on farming later.

After your first playthrough, it's time to do it again on Challenge Mode. All your stats and collectibles will carry over, with the exception of story-related items. This is your chance to mop-up any missing trophies from your last playthrough, so be sure to check out the Ratchet and Clank trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you're missing, and their requirements.

Completing the game on Challenge Mode will unlock the Challenging trophy, and hopefully the Platinum if you've followed this roadmap.

PlayStation Plus Free Games March 2018

Perhaps it was a means to ease the blow of Sony‘s earlier announcement regarding dropping PS3 and Vita games from their list of freebies, or a way to boost those memberships at the end of the fiscal year (which traditionally ends in March, here in Japan). Whatever the reason, Sony has some great titles for their PlayStation Plus free games March 2018.

For the PlayStation 4, there’s Bloodborne, the action RPG set in a Gothic, Victorian era by the same makers as the Dark Souls series. And Ratchet & Clank, the platforming action sci-fi adventure and remake from the original PS2 title.

On the PlayStation 3, we’ve got Legend of Kay Anniversary, a remaster of the original PS2 title featuring martial art combat, platforming, and puzzle solving as we follow the exploits of a hotheaded young cat named Kay. And Mighty No. 9, a 2D side-scrolling action shooter set in the same classic style as the Mega Man series. Mighty No. 9 is also a cross-plat with the PS4.

Finally, the PlayStation Vita will be getting Claire: Extended Cut, a story-driven psychological horror, where the protagonist Claire is on her way to visit her sick mother when she inadvertently finds herself in a dark world filled with mystery. And Bombing Busters, an action battle game in the spirit of Bomberman, where players help a scientist dispose of the random critters by blowing them up. Both Claire: Extended Cut and Bombing Busters are cross-play with the PS4.

Excluding Bombing Busters, all free games for March 2018 have Platinum trophies to unlock. Among them, Ratchet & Clank is by far the easiest, particularly for those with experience in the series, requiring about 20 hours of gameplay. Also, Claire: Extended Cut is not particularly difficult if following closely to a guide, and needs only 5-6 hours. Also, both Mighty No. 9 and Legend of Kay Anniversary is rather average in terms of difficulty and requires 30 hours. While Bloodborne is a fantastic title, expect some rather challenging trophies and about 60-70 hours of your time.

PlayStation Move Heroes Trophy Guide

PlayStation Move Heroes Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  An action adventure that utilizes the PlayStation Move controller, crossing over the Jak and Dexter, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly series. The trophies are straight forward and aren’t too difficult for anyone with average gaming skills.

PlayStation Move Heroes

PlayStation Move Heroes is an action adventure which utilizes the PlayStation Move controller, and a cross-over with the Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper series. Players play through and clear a series of levels, each based on environments from the character's respective games. The game includes both single-player and two-player co-op.

Aliens Lunk and Gleeber have stolen chunks from the worlds of Jak, Ratchet and Sly in order to create a ring around their planet. The three heroes must compete in a series of challenges in order to show off their skills and decide who is the best hero.

PlayStation Move Heroes received rather negative reviews, with an average score of 52%, criticized for its controls, dull story, and boring set of mini-games.

Getting gold medals on some of the challenges can be pretty tricky. Still, anyone with average gaming skills shouldn't have any problem unlocking the platinum. The trophies are straight forward, and since it's a collection of mini-games, there's nothing missable.

Expect around 20 hours to Platinum, depending on your skills.

NOTE: You will need 2 Move controllers to unlock some of the trophies.

You'll first want to start by going through the single player challenges. You'll want to focus on finding collectibles, working towards some of the skill-related trophies, and attempting to get gold medals for each challenge. Don't worry if you can't do this all at once, as you can always come back to each challenge later.

Once you've gone through the game, you can now go back and mop-up any single player trophies you missed, such as finding the remaining collectibles, skill-related trophies, and getting gold medals on all the challenges.

Next, are the Diamond challenges. These can be done with a single player, but are much easier with a friend. You'll need to get gold on each, as well.

Finally, call your friend over, plug in a second Move controller, and unlock the remaining Team Play challenges.

Ratchet and Clank Future A Crack in Time Trophy Guide

Ratchet and Clank Future A Crack in Time Trophy Guide. Difficulty: *  An action platformer in a sci-fi environment, and part of the Ratchet & Clank series. The Platinum is fairly average in both difficulty and time required.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time ** 37 Insomniac Games U.S. 25 6 5 0 0

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, known as Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time in Europe, is an action platformer in a sci-fi setting, and the third installment in the Ratchet & Clank series. Players use an assortment of weapons to attack enemies, solve puzzles, as well as fight in starship combat.

Following the events of Quest for Booty, Clank has been abducted by the Zoni and held in suspended animation. Ratchet must help save his friend, while stopping Dr. Nefarious and a cyborg mercenary named Lord Vorselon from taking control of the Great Clock.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time received very positive reviews, with an average score of 89%. The game was praised for its visuals, overall entertainment, unique time puzzles, and considered by many critics to be the best title in the series thus far.

The difficulty is about the same as any other Ratchet & Clank title, though a bit more time consuming, hence the 2-star difficulty rating. Two playthroughs are required, one on Hard and one on Challenge mode, as well as a chance to mop-up remaining trophies.

Expect around 25 hours for the Platinum.

You'll need to complete the game on Hard mode, in order to unlock Challenge mode. In which case, we recommend skipping Casual and Medium, and going straight to Hard. But don't worry, it's not that hard.

For the most part, you can simply play through the game up to the end without worrying about anything. For the sake of convenience, you can work on some of the weapon-related trophies, and collect Zoni in order to unlock planets along the way.

Once you've defeated the final boss at the end of Hard mode, DO NOT start your Challenge mode yet. Instead, select to return to the point before the final boss. This is your chance to free roam, and collect all the other trophies. If you wish, you can even change the difficulty setting mode to Casual to make things easier.

Once you've collected all the trophies with the exception of Glutton For Punishment, it's time to for your second playthrough, this time on Challenge mode. Create a new game save, and start working through the game. Luckily, you'll still have all your weapon upgrades, which should make this run not too difficult.

Ratchet and Clank All 4 One Trophy Guide

Ratchet and Clank All 4 One Trophy Guide. Difficulty: *  A sci-fi adventure with four-player co-op, and part of the Ratchet & Clank franchise exclusive to the PlayStation. Requires only one playthrough and some mopping-up for the Platinum trophy.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is a four-player third-person action-adventure platformer that takes place in a sci-fi setting with cartoon-like visuals. The game takes place after A Crack In Time, though is considered a spin-off of the Future series.

Ratchet, Clank, and his friends team up with their old nemesis Dr. Nefarious, when they face against Ephemeris, the Creature Collector, who takes dangerous creatures from parts of the universe for unknown reasons.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One received very mixed reviews, with an average score of 74%, both praised and criticized for the four-player co-op feature, praised for its overall fun level, and criticized by some for being too much of a departure from the original series.

If you've played any other Ratchet & Clank titles, you'll be familiar with the fact that they're fun and none too difficult, and All 4 One is no exception. The platinum involves one playthrough, with some mopping-up and a bit of grinding for a million bolts afterwards. While the game is designed to be played co-op, it's possible to unlock everything so long as you have a second controller. The two online trophies are just for playing online, and don't require boosting.

Overall, the Platinum will take you between 18-20 hours.

Since there are no difficulty-related trophies, feel free to select Normal for your playthrough. For the most part, you can just play from beginning to end and enjoy the story. The game is designed to be played as co-op, and so if you have a friend or two, plug in an extra controller and have fun. While it's easier and quicker playing co-op, and will help you net some trophies, it's not necessary.

After you've finished the story, you can use the Mission Select to go back and mop-up anything you missed. Most likely, this will include The First Million Is Always The Hardest trophy, which requires having 1 million bolts. This is not accumulative, which means you should work on collecting this many bolts and unlocking the trophy first, before going for upgrading all your weapons. Simply replay and grind the higher, more difficult levels to get the required number of bolts.

There are two online trophies: Waiting Room and Connected. You'll unlock the first simply by heading into the online lobby, and the second once the game starts. A PSN Pass is required, which is included with the game if you purchased it new.
