PlayStation Plus Free Games May 2022

Spring is finally here! Let’s all celebrate the warming weather and blooming flowers by staying indoors and playing some games. And so, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games May 2022 available for download on Tuesday, May 3.

First, for the PS4, there’s Curse of the Dead Gods, a dungeon crawler developed by Passtech Games. Players explore procedurally generated dungeons in search of money, power, and eternal life, while battling enemies and avoiding traps.

Also on the PS4, there’s FIFA 22, the next installment in EA’s football/soccer franchise. Play through the Career mode, play against other players online, and enjoy the newly added HyperMotion Technology which adds more life-like player movements and animations in real time.

Finally, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Tribes of Midgard, an action-RPG with a top-down view by Norsfell Games. Players can either play solo or form a tribe of up to 10 players, and venture out as a Viking hero and battle enemies from Norse mythology such as dark elves, giants, and trolls, in order to protect the seed of Yggdrasil.

All three titles in the line-up of PlayStation Plus free games May 2022 have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Those who have played previous games in the FIFA series will be happy to know that the Platinum for FIFA 22 is relatively easier. However, keep in mind that boosting really helps in unlocking some of the online trophies, and expect around 40 hours of gameplay.

The Platinum for Curse of the Dead Gods can be fairly challenging due to some of the difficult trophies, and will require around 70-80 hours to complete.

Since Tribes of Midgard is a new game, we still do not have much information on this Platinum. However, it is rumored to be quite difficult to unlock if you are playing this game solo, so expect to find some friends to join in your quests.

Spring is fast approaching, and with it comes those pesky allergies. One way to avoid them is to stay indoors and play games all day. So, how about some freebies? Without further ado, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games April 2022 available for download on Tuesday, April 5.

For the PS4, there’s Slay the Spire by MegaCrit, the 2019 deck-building game which won over critics and received countless game award nominations. Players make their way through the levels of a spire, fighting enemies and bosses in turn-based combat through the use of attack and defense cards. Continue to build your deck, and develop strategies that see you to the end.

Also for the PS4 is SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, a remake of the 2003 platformer which in turn is based on the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. Plankton has created a robot army that is threatening Bikini Bottom, and only Spongebob, along with his friends Patrick and Sandy, and save the day. This remake includes a multiplayer mode, as well as content that had been cut from the original game.

Lastly, for PS5 owners, there’s Hood: Outlaws & Legends, an online multiplayer action title inspired by the Robin Hood legend, in which players play as outlaws competing against rival teams in stealing treasures found in vaults. Select from a range of characters each with their own abilities, seek your treasure, and decide how generous you wish to be.

All three titles in the line-up of PlayStation Plus free games April 2022 have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The easiest Platinum, as you could probably imagine, would be for SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated. While not a complete walk in the park, the difficulty is under average, and only requires around 15-20 hours.

The Platinum for Slay the Spire is not incredibly difficult either, though requires not only strategy but a lot of luck, as well. As a result, expect anywhere between 60-80 hours of gameplay to unlock this Platinum.

Lastly, the difficulty in unlocking the Platinum for Hood: Outlaws & Legends is around average to above-average, and also requires around 60-80 hours of gameplay.

Sony is feeling generous these days, and has decided to throw in a little bonus to the next set of freebies. And so, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games March 2022 available for download on Tuesday, March 1.

First, on the PS4, there’s ARK: Survival Evolved, the action adventure with crafting elements, developed by Studio Wildcard. Players can select either single-player or online mode, beam down to a planet inhabited by dinosaurs, and try to survive by building bases, crafting weapons, taming dinosaurs to ride, and fighting an assortment of creatures.

Next for the PS4 is Team Sonic Racing, the next title in the Kart racing series which spun-off from the Sonic the Hedgehog games. Select from a roaster of 15 characters and race your way to the finish line while drifting, performing tricks, and collecting power-ups. Unlike other titles in the series, Team Sonic Racing focuses on cooperative gameplay as you work with your teammates to win.

And for the PS5, there’s Ghostrunner, an action platformer in a cyberpunk setting. Similar to the popular 2008 title Mirror’s Edge, players must run, jump, and grapple their way through dangerous environments while battling enemies with one-hit kills.

All three of these titles have Platinum trophies to unlock.

If played legitimately, unlocking all the trophies on ARK: Survival Evolved is the most challenging and time consuming. However, the game allows the player to input cheat codes during the offline campaign. If using these cheat codes, the Platinum for ARK: Survival Evolved is by far the easiest and less time consuming among the PlayStation Plus free games March 2022 line-up.

While Ghostrunner and be quite tricky and has a steep learning curve, the Platinum can be unlocked in less than 10 hours with enough patience and lots of trial and error.

The difficulty in obtaining the Platinum for Team Sonic Racing entirely depends on your experience with kart-racing titles. On average, expect around 25 hours of gameplay.

Lastly, as an added bonus, Sony is also giving away Ghost of Tsushima: Legends for both the PS4 and PS5. This is a standalone version of the multiplayer add-on to Ghost of Tsushima, where players select from four classes and participate in a variety of game modes including 2v2 battles, survival, and story missions.

Still too cold out there for you? Why not stay inside and play some games? Sony has an answer to that, and they have just announced their line-up of PlayStation Plus free games February 2022 available for download on Tuesday, February 1.

First, for the PS4, there’s Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure, an action RPG shooter. Rescue the Queen and save the kingdom by battling dragons, skeletons, and golems in this high fantasy world.

Next, for the PS4, there’s EA Sports UFC 4, the mixed martial arts fighting game first released two years ago. Learn the four MMA disciplines of boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and jiujitsu, create your own custom player, and fight your way to becoming the GOAT.

Last, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Planet Coaster: Console Edition, a simulation game where players create and manage their own theme park attractions. Complete objectives in Career mode, or create whatever you like in Sandbox mode.

All three PlayStation Plus free games February 2022 have platinum trophies to unlock.

The platinum for Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure is perhaps the easiest to obtain, as the game can be played on easy mode. However, some trophies are luck based, which means you can expect anywhere between 30-40 hours to complete.

Planet Coaster: Console Edition’s platinum is fairly average in terms of difficulty, and even easier for those with experience playing theme park simulation games. Expect around 35-40 hours of gameplay for this one.

The platinum for EA Sports UFC 4 is also of average difficulty, though you will need some half-decent skills in order to unlock some of the online trophies.

Happy holidays! The new year is just days away, and with it comes some new freebies from Sony. So without further ado, there is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games January 2022 available for download on Tuesday, January 4.

For the PS4, there’s Persona 5 Strikers, an action RPG featuring a crossover between Atlus’ Persona 5 RPG elements and the hack and slash elements of Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors franchise. Taking place several months following the events of Persona 5, the protagonist Joker is transported to an alternate version of Tokyo filled with dangerous shadows.

Next, there’s Dirt 5 available for both the PS4 and PS5. This off-road racing game includes a weather system based on the seasons as players compete in various locales across the globe, as well as introduces four-players splitscreen and a narrative-focused career mode.

Lastly, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Deep Rock Galactic, a co-op first-person shooter. Players explore procedurally generated caves while working together in teams of up to four in PvE combat.

All three PlayStation Plus free games January 2022 titles have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Among them, Dirt 5 is perhaps the easiest to unlock. The game includes two online trophies which are quick to get and do not require boosting. Due to some grinding in order to drive a total of 1,000 miles, the Platinum will require around 25 hours.

The platinum for Persona 5 Strikers is also not particularly difficult, though will require a lot of grinding and around 60 hours of gameplay.

Since Deep Rock Galactic is new to the PlayStation, it is still yet unknown how easy or difficult the Platinum will be. However, just from looking at the trophy list, it appears to include a few trophies that may be difficult to unlock without boosting.
