PlayStation Plus Free Games November 2020

The month is finally arriving, when some lucky gamers will get their hands on a brand-new PlayStation 5. To celebrate the launch of their latest console, Sony is giving away not two, but three freebies this month. Whether or not this will become a common practice remains to be seen.

First, thereā€™s the action RPG Middle-earth: Shadow of War, a sequel to the popular 2014 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The story takes place between the events of J.R.R. Tolkienā€™s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, players continue the adventures of the ranger Talion whose body is shared with the spirit of the elf lord Celebrimbor, who are creating an army to fight against Sauron by creating a new Ring of Power.

Next, thereā€™s Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, an upgrade of the original 2017 Hollow Knight which includes patches and slight graphical improvements. In this action adventure, players control a nameless knight journeying and learning the secrets of an ancient kingdom inhabited by insect-like creatures known as Hallownest.

And as a bonus, Sony is also releasing Bugsnax as a freebie for the PS5, available for download on the day of the new consoleā€™s launch, November 12. This first-person adventure game has players exploring a mysterious island and using various contraptions to capture the half-bug, half-snack creatures known as bugsnaks.

All three titles have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Obtaining all the trophies for Middle-earth: Shadow of War is not particularly difficult, though you will need to put in a good 45-50 hours for the Platinum.

The Platinum for Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition however, is no easy task. Not only are some boss battles quite challenging, but youā€™ll need roughly 100 hours of gameplay to unlock all the trophies.

Since Bugnax is a launch title for the PS5, we do not have any personal experience with the game or its Platinum difficulty. However, from an inside source, we have been informed that the game is overall rather easy, and the Platinum should only take around 10 hours or so.

PlayStation Plus Free Games October 2020

With all the excitement and hustle over reserving a PS5, some of us may have forgotten there are free games to be had. And so, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus Free Games October 2020 available for download on Tuesday, October 6.

First, thereā€™s Need For Speed: Payback, the twenty-third installment in the Need for Speed racing series, set in the fictional open-world of Fortune Valley. Three characters are betrayed after a job of stealing limited edition cars go sour, and theyā€™re out for some payback.

And, thereā€™s Vampyr, a third-person action RPG set in a semi-open world London which blends factual and fictional locations. After returning from the Great War in 1918, Doctor Jonathan Reid finds himself turned into a vampire. While searching for clues to this deadly virus, he must battle vampire hunters, and decide whether or not to give in to his blood-hungry tendencies.

Both Need for Speed: Payback and Vampyr have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The Platinum for Need for Speed: Payback is of average difficulty, though a little time consuming with around 40 hours of gameplay required. There are collectibles to find, and some grinding needed to reach a REP of level 50. The game includes 4 online trophies which are easy to unlock and do not require any boosting.

The Platinum for Vampyr is a little easier and far less time consuming, which about 25 hours required. Two playthroughs are needed to unlock each of the two major endings, and a few missable trophies to watch out for.

PlayStation Plus Free Games September 2020

Another month, and another round of freebies from Sony. Here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games September 2020 that are available to download on September 1.

First, thereā€™s Street Fighter V, the 2D fighting game first released in 2016 which features four new characters, and introduces the V-Gauge which builds through the player receiving attacks and allows performing new techniques. Also, in celebration of this PS+ freebie, Sony will be holding tournaments beginning September 4, with prizes for the best of the best.

And, thereā€™s PlayerUnknownā€™s Battlegrounds, also known as PUBG, the online multiplayer battle royale where up to 100 players scavenge for weapons on an island and defeat one another in an attempt to be the last man standing.

Both Street Fighter V and PlayerUnknownā€™s Battlegrounds have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The Platinum for Street Fighter V is perhaps the most difficult in the series. Not only will you need to sink a fair amount of time into grinding for XP, but youā€™ll need to complete Survival Mode on Hell difficulty, win at least 300 ranked online games, and reach the top 10% in online League Ranking.

The Platinum for PlayerUnknownā€™s Battlegrounds is certainly more reasonable, but will still require quite a lot of time as you reach 1000 kills. Most of the other trophies are kill-related and will come naturally as you continue to play.

PlayStation Plus Free Games August 2020

Another month is approaching, which means another month of free games for PlayStation Plus members. Here is the upcoming line-up of PlayStation Plus Free Games August 2020 available for download on Tuesday, August 4.

First, thereā€™s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, originally released in 2009 on the PlayStation 3, and remastered for the PS4 just last April. The first-person shooter is the sixth installment in the Call of Duty series and a sequel to the 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The game continues the storyline of Task Force 141, the special forces unit lead by Captain Soap MacTavish who are pursuing the leader of the Russian Ultranationalist party, Vladimir Makarov.

Also, thereā€™s Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a brand-new game developed by Mediatonic, the creators behind Foul Play and Hatoful Boyfriend. Players compete online in a 60-person battle royale where they must complete randomized mini-games, such as avoiding obstacles to reach the finish line.

Both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The Platinum for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is of average difficulty and requires roughly 15-18 hours to unlock. Unlike the original 2009 version on the PS3, all trophies are related to the campaign and so therefore have no online trophies.

Since Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a brand-new title, we do not have any information on the difficulty or time required for the Platinum. However, this is an online game, and since there are up to 60 players per session, achievements such as coming in first place twenty times may be pretty challenging.

PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2020

Due to the first Tuesday of the month falling late into July, we didnā€™t hear about the next line-up of free games until today. The good news is, July 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of PlayStation Plus, first launching on the PlayStation 3. To celebrate, Sony is giving away three freebies this month, as well as a free theme, and will host a free online multiplayer weekend starting this Saturday. So, without further ado, here is the line-up for PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2020 available for download on Tuesday, July 7.

First, thereā€™s Rise of the Tomb Raider, the third-person action adventure and sequel to the 2013 reboot Tomb Raider. Laura Croft traverses the freezing environment of Siberia as she searches for the legendary city of Kitezh.

Next, thereā€™s NBA 2K20, the latest title in the popular basketball simulation series. Players can enjoy the return of the MyCareer mode and customize their own players, as well as the return of MyGM and MyLeague modes.

Finally, thereā€™s Erica, a unique FMV (full motion video) game, in which players make choices that impact the results of the story. Follow the main character Erica as she takes you down a shadowy world full of danger, murder, and cultists in this interactive thriller.

All three games in the line-up of PlayStation Plus free games July 2020 have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Erica is the quickest and easiest of the three. If you chose to follow a walkthrough, the Platinum can be earned in around 10 hours.

The Platinum for Rise of the Tomb Raider is of average difficulty, and has no missable trophies since a free roam and chapter select is available. Completionists should take note however, that the game has a whopping 59 DLC trophies for online play.

NBA 2K20 can be challenging at times, particularly for anyone new to the basketball series. More importantly however, you will be looking at hundreds and hundreds of hours for the Platinum, as you spend an incredible amount of time collecting 2,900 cards for the Ultimate Collector trophy.
