Shift 2: Unleashed

Shift 2: Unleashed is a simulation racing game, the seventh installment in the Need for Speed series, and a sequel to the 2009 title Need for Speed: Shift. The game includes over 145 cars from more than 37 manufacturers, which can be raced in over 36 different tracks in several different race types, including drifting, muscle car racing, retro car racing, endurance races, and circuit competition. Formula D champion Vaughn Gitten lends his voice as the guide for the player in career mode, as well as several other Formula D drivers who explain certain aspects of the game. Players may also complete in online multiplayer.

Shift 2: Unleashed received positive reviews, with an average score of 81%, praised for its graphics, excitement and fun, and for being an overall improvement over its prequel.

Shift 2: Unleashed is a high 3-star rating if you're attempting to acquire the online trophies legitimately, and a low 3-star if you have a boosting partner. However, it's not just the online trophies you need to worry about, as the game demands some serious racing skills to acquire all the trophies. Being able to get used to the controls, particularly with drifting, will be the first and biggest challenge on your road to the Platinum.

Expect roughly 50-70 hours depending on your skills.

Start things off by playing the Career mode. You will eventually need to win 75 career events on Hard difficulty for the Race License trophy, so if you feel confident and wish to save yourself a lot of time, we recommend beginning your Career on Hard. At any point you can adjust the difficulty, so if the learning curve is just too steep, go ahead and lower it to Normal or Easy. Just remember that you'll need to bring it back up again to work towards the Race License trophy.

Also, at the start of the Career and after completing the tutorial, you will race in a Nissan GT-R. Make sure to come in first place and win for the Proving Grounds trophy. This particular race cannot be redone later on, making Proving Grounds the only missable trophy in the game. So, if it looks like you're going to lose, quickly pause the game and restart.

Continue playing on Career mode, gaining XP, earning cash for the Bounty Hunter trophy, and unlocking events. Eventually you'll want to reach the GT3, Works, and GT1 Championship events where you can unlock the GT3 Champion, Works Champion, and GT1 Champion trophies.

At any point during your Career, or after, you can start working on the online trophies. You'll need to play an accumulated total of 10 hours for the Notorious trophy. During this time, you can either try to unlock the other trophies on your own, or find yourself a boosting partner to help you out. If you're having trouble finding players, be sure to check out the boosting forums under our Links tab.

Finally, with both the Career mode and online trophies completed, simply mop-up anything you still might be missing to unlock the Platinum.

Need for Speed Undercover Trophy Guide

Need for Speed Undercover Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  A racing game and twelfth in the Need for Speed series. The Platinum is more time consuming and grinding than challenging, though the online trophies are becoming more difficult due to the game’s age.

Need for Speed: Undercover

Need for Speed: Undercover is a racing game, and the twelfth title in the Need for Speed series. Players race in an open world environment, divided into four boroughs, which is open from the beginning, using cars that can be modified. Online multiplayer is also included.

Taking place in the fictional Tri-City, the player controls an undercover police officer taking on jobs and competing in races in order to infiltrate the criminal underground and stop a smuggling syndicate.

Need for Speed: Undercover, despite being a commercial success, received mixed reviews with an average score of 64%. The game was praised for its selection of cars and handling, but criticized for its easy difficulty, repetitiveness, and poorly acted live-action cut scenes.

The game is not particularly difficult, especially if you're experienced with the Need for Speed series or other racing titles, and is only a little time consuming with its grinding. There are 9 online trophies, one of which, First Of Many, requires you to win a ranked multiplayer against 7 other players. This can be done in a team race, but given the gradual age of Undercover, is becoming increasing difficult to find 7 other people to play with.

Overall, expect 30 hours or so for the Platinum.

Like most Need for Speed titles, you'll probably want to start with the offline trophies. Given that the game is an open world, no real roadmap is required. But if you're in desperate need of direction, we recommend going through and completing the story, first. After, you can focus on dominating the 8 race events for the Own The Road trophy. Then check out the Need for Speed Undercover trophy guide links under our Links tab, and start mopping up anything you still need, which will gradually bring you closer to earning the Completionist trophy, as it will probably be your last.

Once all the offline trophies are finished, you can start with the 9 online ones. You'll need to create an EA Nation account for the Community Member trophy, as well as the Photo Mode trophy. Afterwards, we recommend playing Cops N' Robbers as this is a team race, making winning much easier. Keep in mind the race needs to be fully completed in order to count towards the Notorious trophy.

Need for Speed Shift Trophy Guide

Need for Speed Shift Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  The thirteenth title in the Need for Speed racing game, focusing on simulated racing rather than arcade-style. After getting adjusted to the controls, the Platinum trophy is more of a grind than difficult.

Need for Speed: Shift

Need for Speed: Shift is a racing game, and the thirteenth installment in the Need for Speed franchise. The game focuses more on simulation racing, rather than the arcade racing of previous titles, with more realistic car handling. Rather than a story, players compete in the NFS Live World Series, earning money and experience points in the form of stars by playing and unlocking new races. The game includes over 60 cars, which can be modified.

Need for Speed: Shift received positive reviews, with an average score of 84%, praised for its presentation, sound effects, and replay value filled with a lot of variety.

The only real challenge is mastering the controls and those tight corners. Otherwise, the majority of the trophies are for completing the career and a whole lot of grinding afterwards. No online trophies to worry about.

Should take between 30-40 hours of gameplay, depending on your racing skills.

Your first trophy will be Trial By Fire, for doing a practice lap in a BMW. Once that's finished, you can begin the Career. From there, simply play through the career, completing all the events and climbing tiers while earning experience points.

Once that's finished, you'll want to work towards getting the 20 epic badges. There are 27 categories, which allows you some leeway in avoiding challenges you think are a pain. This may include the online badges which, unless you have a boosting partner, can be difficult as the online community is rather dead.

After you've unlocked all the badge-related trophies, you can start grinding for experience to level up for the Driving Legend trophy, which requires Level 50.

Need for Speed: Rivals Trophy Guide

Need for Speed: Rivals

Need for Speed: Rivals is a racing game which takes place in an open world. It is the twentieth installment in the Need for Speed series, and the first to also be released on the PlayStation 4.

Similar in gameplay to Hot Pursuit, players take on the role of either a Racer or Cop. Taking place in the fictional Redview County, players either race and face challenges, or take down the racers, depending on the player's role. Cars can be upgraded with 11 different gadgets, such as shockwaves and EMPs. The game also includes online multiplayer, which players can seemlessly jump in and out during play.

Need for Speed: Rivals received positive reviews, with an average score of 82%, praised for its improvement since Hot Pursuit, beautiful graphics, and intense racing.

If you're experienced with the Need for Speed series, or racing games in general, than this platinum shouldn't give you too much trouble. Two playthroughs are required, with some mopping up afterwards. There are two online trophies, which simply require you to play online with a friend.

The Platinum can be earned between 25-30 hours.

NOTE: The Trophies on the PS4 have a separate list than those on the PS3.

As we mentioned earlier, you'll need two playthroughs for this one. Start by selecting to play either as a Racer or Cop. Both playthroughs take roughly the same amount of time, and it doesn't matter which side you do first. Your ultimate goal as a Racer is to unlock the Professional Collector trophy, as well as Racer Rank 60. As a Cop, you'll want to aim for Upgrade Master, and Cop Rank 60. Once you've unlocked these trophies on one side, you can load up a new game and start on the other.

Afterwards, you can start mopping up any offline trophies you're still missing. This may include Gold Master, which requires earning 100 gold medals between both sides.

Once you have all the offline trophies unlocked, there are still two online trophies: Friendly Race and Buddy Bust. These are simple enough to unlock, though require you to have a "friend" with the game. You can either jump into multiplayer and start sending out friend invites, or check out the boosting forums in our Links page.
