Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X is a fighting game and the tenth installment in the Mortal Kombat series which began in the arcades in 1992, and is a sequel to the 2011 Mortal Kombat. The game includs several modes, such as Story mode, Tower mode with changing challenges, online modes, and Krypt mode which plays in a first-person perspective. The game features 24 characters, including a number of new members added to the roster.

Twenty-five years after the defeat of Shinnok, a civil war has broken out in Outworld between emperor Kotal Kahn, and the former empress Mileena who has in her possession Shinnok's amulet. Johnny puts together a team of fighters to head into the Outworld to resolve the civil war.

Mortal Kombat X received positive reviews with an average score of 84%, praised for its gameplay, presentation, engaging story, and for being an overall entertaining fighting game, though criticized by some for online technical issues.

With 60 trophies to unlock before getting the Platinum, you can imagine there is a lot to do. The majority of the offline trophies are of average difficulty, requiring a fair bit of time and some skill. The online trophies, however, is what brings this score of a high 3-star rating, for challenges like winning 10 ranked matches in a row. Many of these difficult online trophies can be boosted, which could bring this score down to a low 3-star or even high 2-star, depending on your skills. However, if you choose to boost, keep in mind that the online servers are region-locked, which means you'll need to find a boosting partner in your region.

Expect roughly 40-60 hours of gameplay, depending on your skills and whether or not you boost the online trophies.

Like many fighting games, a roadmap isn't really required for Mortal Kombat X. However, if you're in the need for some direction, you can start with the Story mode, which can be played and completed on any difficulty level. Doing so should unlock at least five trophies, including the There Is A Ruler trophy for completing the Story mode. You may unlock a few miscellaneous trophies along the way, as well.

Next, you can mop-up some of those miscellaneous trophies in offline mode which shouldn't take much time to do. These include Hit The Dojo for entering Practice mode, Jump Ship for becoming a member of every faction, or Back It Up for equipping a background image. There are also a number of trophies you can easily unlock through the use of a second controller. Check out the Mortal Kombat X trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details.

Eventually you'll want to start obtaining the more grinding trophies, such as reaching level 50 in any faction for the Faction Champion trophy, playing every character variation for the Well Rounded trophy, or performing 100 fatalities in matches for the Straight Power trophy. Again, check out the Mortal Kombat X trophy guide links for more details. Most of these trophies are not difficult, only time consuming.

At any point, you can start on the online trophies, to which there are 21 in total. Some of these are quick and easy, some of these are grinding, and a few are rather difficult without boosting. If you're looking for a boosting partner, check out the boosting forums under our Links tab. Keep in mind that the online servers are region-locked, which means if you're playing in the North American region, you'll need a boosting partner who is also in North America.

Lastly, it should be noted that the Invasion mode is only available for 24 hours every few days, so you may wish to work on Invasion mode related trophies whenever you have the chance. This includes playing a Boss fight for the Stay Back trophy, completing an Invasion Tower for the Invasion trophy, winning an Invasion 1v1 battle for the Can't Stop This trophy, and dealing a total of 1,000 hits during an Invasion boss fight for the Die Will You trophy. The 1,000 hits are accumulative, so just keep working on it and you'll eventually get it.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Trophy Guide

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Trophy Guide. Difficulty: n/o  A cross-over fighting game featuring characters from the Mortal Kombat game series and DC Comics. Since the servers were closed in July 2014, the online trophies – and therefore, the Platinum – are now Not Obtainable.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is a crossover fighting game between characters from the Mortal Kombat game series, and the DC Comics fictional universe. The Story Mode consists of two different perspectives, between the Mortal Kombat and DC Universe, divided into a series of chapters. Battles include a Falling Kombat mini-game in which players fight in the air while tumbling towards lower levels, a Klose Kombat where the camera switches to a close-up shot of the characters, and a Test Your Might mini-game when smashing opponents through walls. The game features both local and online matches, to which the online servers were closed in July 2014. The game includes a total of 22 playable characters, 11 from each of the two franchises.

As Raiden repels an invasion by Shao Kahn, Superman is simultaneously fighting against Darkseid's Apokoliptian invasion. The two events cause a merging of the two villains into the creation of Dark Kahn, who manages to merge the Mortal Kombat and DC Universe worlds. Unless the heroes from each world can stop this merging, both worlds will be destroyed.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe received mostly positive reviews with an average score of 77%, praised mainly for its overall fun and execution, though criticized by some for the lack of gore often familiar with the Mortal Kombat series, and the newly added modes of Klose Kombat and Falling Kombat for slowing down the gameplay.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was released in November 2008, and includes 3 online trophies. Unfortunately, after the closure of online provider GameSpy following the Ziff Davis acquisition of IGN Entertainment, the online servers to the game were closed on July 16, 2014. As a result, the 3 online trophies cannot be unlocked. Therefore, the Platinum for this game has become Not Obtainable.

Following the closure of GameSpy after the Ziff Davis acquisition of IGN Entertainment, the online servers to Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe were closed on July 16, 2014. As a result, the three online trophies - Less Talk More Fight, Humiliation, and Relentless, cannot be unlocked. Therefore, the platinum for this game is Not Obtainable. However, there are still 39 offline trophies that can be earned, so if you're still interested, then read on.

You can begin by playing the Story Mode. You'll need to complete it twice, once through the Mortal Kombat path for the Worlds Remade trophy, and again on the DC Universe path to unlock the Universe Reborn trophy. In the process, you will also obtain The Ultimate Evil for completing both paths, as well as naturally unlock The Pugilist and Free Falling trophies. If things get tough, you can adjust to an easier mode.

Next, you'll need to play Arcade mode with all 22 characters, performing each of their Fatalities for Heroic Brutalities along the way in order to unlock The Finisher trophy. You'll also need to play a round on Very Hard without continuing for the Arcade Master trophy.

Once that's done, you can start working on the trophies related to the combo challenges, as well as the Super moves and Promoves. There is a trophy for each character, as well as the gold Supreme Champion trophy for completing all the Kombo challenges, and the gold Super Moves Master trophy for performing all the Super moves and Promoves, for a grand total of 24 trophies to unlock. Check out the trophy guides in our Links page for further details, and videos to see how they are performed.

Finally, mop-up any last remaining offline trophies you may still need.

Unfortunately, with the online servers shutdown, this is as far as we can go.

Mortal Kombat Trophy Guide

Mortal Kombat Trophy Guide. Difficulty: *****  A fighting game and the ninth title in the Mortal Kombat series, and a reboot of the original arcade version. While not as long as Street Fighter IV, the Platinum requires both some serious skills as well as time, even if boosting the online trophies.

Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is a fighting game, the ninth installment in the Mortal Kombat series, and is a reboot of the original title released in arcades in 1992 and later ported onto fourth generation consoles.

Characters are rendered in three-dimensions, and fight on a two-dimensional plane. A Super Meter feature has been added, which is charged by performing certain actions in battle and allow special moves to be made. The game includes a Story Mode which is a retcon to the original trilogy, as well as a Challenge Tower, tag team fighting, and online play, with a roster of 28 playable characters.

Mortal Kombat received positive reviews, with an average score of 86% and won several Game of the Year awards in 2011, described by some critics as the best Mortal Kombat in the series, and offering plenty of nostalgia.

This 5-star difficulty, as always, does not include boosting. Aside from the many hours you'll need to put into the offline trophies, as well as the skills needed, the online trophies will only unlock for the true masters who can, for example, win ranked matches without jumping, or win ten matches in a row.

With boosting, however, the online trophies are much easier, and brings this difficulty score down to a low 4-star. While perhaps not as ridiculous as Street Fighter IV, you can expect nearly 400 hours of gameplay for the Platinum if you're boosting, and far more if you're doing it legitimately.

First, you can head into the Tutorial Mode to easily unlock the A For Effort trophy. Then jump into Fatality Trainer for the Tag You're It and License To Kill trophies.

Next, you can play through the story mode. This can be performed on any difficulty setting, and will not only unlock the remaining characters, but several trophies along the way as well, such as Halfway There, Back In Time, There Will Be Blood, Cold Fusion, and Quan Tease.

After that, you can start going through the arcade ladder with all the characters to collect coins as well as unlock a few more miscellaneous trophies. This can also be done on Easy, with the option of retrying whenever you fail.

Then, there's the tower missions. There are 300 in total, and will not only earn you more coins, but allow you to unlock more trophies along the way, such as Tower Apprentice and Tower Master.

Next, you can start working on the online trophies. These are extremely difficult to unlock legitimately, but much easier if you have a boosting partner. Either start making friends, or check out the boosting forums under our Links tab if you're having trouble. There are 13 online trophies in total.

With those trophies out of the way, you can start mopping up the remaining offline trophies, which unfortunately we left the more time-consuming ones for last. Particularly My Kung Fu Is Stronger, which requires many hours of gameplay to complete the set of objectives. Check out the Mortal Kombat trophy guide links under our Links tab for specific details on what you need.

Good luck!
