X-Men: Destiny

X-Men: Destiny is a third-person action game with RPG elements, based on the X-Men comic book series, with a story written by X-Men: Legacy comic series writer Mike Carey.

Taking place in San Francisco, which has been divided into areas reserved for humans and mutants, the player is an apparent human visiting a peace rally in memory of the deceased Professor X. When an anti-mutant extremist organization known as the Purifiers attacks the rally, the player's dormant powers become active. Throughout the story, the player chooses their own destiny by selecting to either side with the X-men or Brotherhood of Mutants in a series of choices and selected missions.

X-Men: Destiny received negative reviews with an average score of 47%, praised for its boss battles and story, though heavily criticized for its simplistic battle-system, lack of polish, and feeling overall unfinished.

For more information, check out our X-Men: Destiny Review.

The game requires two playthroughs - one on a Hard mode, although all your powers and experience can carry over. There are collectibles along the way, but many are easy to find even without a guide, and finding all of them is not necessary for the trophies. A Mission Select makes moping-up easy.

Other than a few boss battles being tricky on Hard mode, this game is none too difficult, and should take an average gamer no more than 20 hours to acquire the Platinum.

The game will require at least 2 full playthroughs, one for each team: X-men and Brotherhood of Mutants. During your first playthrough, select only missions and choices corresponding to the team you've first chosen, and ignore the others. There are a total of 15 unique challenge missions, but only complete the 10 which correspond to your chosen team. Also, along the way, you'll want to find and destroy 25 of the 34 pieces of propaganda posters for the Cleaned Up The City trophy, collect 15 of the 24 dossiers for the Archivist trophy, find X-Genes to enhance your powers, and Suits to change the look of your character.

When you're finished your first playthrough, you can mop-up by loading your Character Data from the main menu, then select the mission and level which either contains the unique challenges which you missed or had to pass on, or find any missed collectibles.

For the second playthrough, select Continue from the main menu, and then chose X-treme Difficulty, to collect the Omega Level Mutant trophy. Here, you'll be selecting choices and only the unique challenge missions associated with the other team.

If all has gone well, you should acquire the Platinum at the end of your second playthrough. If not, use the Select Mission and Select Challenge option to mop-up anything you're still missing.

Thor God of Thunder Trophy Guide

Thor God of Thunder Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  An action game based on the 2011 film Thor, where the player-character battles through several different worlds. The game is more difficult than it should be, due to the clunky controls.

Thor: God of Thunder

Thor: God of Thunder is an action game based on the 2011 film Thor, which in turn is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Thor battles numerous enemies including Ulik, Ymir and Surtur, while fighting through several different worlds using his hammer, as well as elemental powers. The game features the voice talents of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Jaimie Alexander, reprising their roles from the film.

After an invasion by the frost giants in Asgard, Thor is assisted by Loki as he travels to various realms in search of methods for protecting Asgard from future threats. But his journey may lead him to answers he never predicted.

Thor: God of Thunder received fairly negative reviews, with an average score of 25%, mainly criticized for its glitches as well as some clunky controls.

This is actually a high 2-star rating, due to a combination of frustration and clunky controls. The Platinum requires two playthroughs, one on Valhallan (Very Hard) mode, where some of the boss battles will require a whole lot of patience. Also, there are no chapter selects, which means a large number of missable trophies which, if not unlocked, will require more playthroughs.

Expect roughly 20 hours on this one, possibly more if you missed some of the trophies and need a third or even fourth playthrough.

At minimum, this game will require two playthroughs. Also take note, that there is no chapter select. So it's recommended you acquire as many of the missable trophies as you can during your first playthrough, leaving only what's necessary for the second in case you accidentally miss anything.

For your first playthrough, we recommend playing on Skraeling (Easy) mode. There are a number of collectibles to gather, many of which you can find now, though a few you can only acquire on the harder modes. Follow one of the collectible guides under our Links tab for this. Also, there are a vast assortment of feats which you'll need to perform in their respective realms for the Feat Fetish trophy. Finally, there are a number of various trophies which can only be done at certain moments in the game. Check out the Thor God of Thunder trophy guide links under our Links tab and try to unlock as many of these as you can.

Hopefully after your first playthrough, you should have a good chunk of the trophies. Now comes the frustrating part: your second New Game+ playthrough, this time on Valhallan (Very Hard) mode. For the most part, the game isn't too bad and the upgrades from your previous game will definitely help. Some of those boss battles will certainly test your patience, however. Here, you'll want to find the remaining collectibles, as well as try to knock out any last feats you haven't yet completed, and unlock any other missable trophies that you still need.

After that, hopefully you'll have the Platinum by now. If not, start another new game on which ever difficulty mode you need to mop up the last remaining trophies.

Spider-Man Edge of Time Trophy Guide

Spider-Man Edge of Time Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  A third-person action and indirect sequel to the 2010 Spider-Man: Shattered Dreams. The Platinum requires two playthroughs, one on Hard mode, though doable for any average player.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time

Spider-Man: Edge of Time is a third-person action game, and an indirect sequel to the 2010 Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Like in previous Spider-Man titles, players can upgrade their characters with XP earned by completing mini-challenges. The game features both the present-day Spider-Man, as well as Spider-Man 2099 as playable characters.

After the death of Spider-Man, the story flashes back to Spider-Man 2099, who learns that Alchemax scientist Walter Sloan is travelling back in time to establish Alchemax. In an effort to stop him, both present-day and 2099 Spider-Men must work together by causing events that affect the timeline in their favor.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time received mixed reviews, with an average score of 61%, with some reviewers praising the story and voice acting, but criticizing the game's repetition and overall departure from the original gameplay formula.

The difficulty for this game is pretty average. You'll need 2 full playthroughs, one on Normal and one on Hard mode. There are a good number of collectibles throughout the game, though a Chapter Select is available, which means nothing is missable.

An average player could obtain this Platinum in around 25 hours or so.

You'll first want to play through the game on Normal difficulty. Here, you'll be naturally unlocking a vast majority of the trophies that are story-related, as well as a few others. There are a number of collectibles you can be searching for during your first playthrough, if you choose to. These include hidden Golden Spiders, Portal Energy for upgrades, Newspapers, and the Web of Challenges. Check out the locations guide under our Links tab to find these if you plan to search for them during your playthrough. However, keep note that there is a Chapter Select after completing the game.

Next, if you haven't already done so, you can use the Chapter Select to obtain any collectibles you may have missed during your first playthrough. You can also use this opportunity to complete the Web of Challenges. If you're having any trouble with these, check out the guides under our Links tab for some tips. Lastly, you can mop-up any other trophies you're still missing at this point as well, with the exception of the Master Of All You Survey trophy.

Last, load up the game on Hard difficulty, and play through to the end. This should net you the Master Of All You Survey trophy, and hopefully the last one to unlock the Platinum.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Trophy Guide

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  An action title with RPG elements, featuring characters from the Marvel Comics universe. Fairly average Platinum in both difficulty and time consumption, requiring at least two playthroughs.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 is an action title with RPG elements, featuring characters from the Marvel Comics universe, and a sequel to the 2006 Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Similar to the prequel, players select four characters in their team, which are interchangeable during the game, and allows up to 4-player co-op.

Following the Civil War story arc, an explosion caused by a battle between heroes and villains, results in the death of over 600 civilians. The public is outraged, and demands the government instill a Superhuman Registration Act, forcing meta-humans to reveal their secret identities. This divides both heroes and villains between Pro-Registration and Anti-Registration, beginning the Civil War.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 received lukewarm reviews, with an average score of 74%, praised for its graphics and fun for fans of the previous title, but criticized for its repetitiveness and overall lack of upgrade from the prequel.

Not easy, but not particularly difficult, either. This game is a model 2-star rating. Two playthroughs are necessary, one on Hard and another on its Hardest mode, with collectibles to find along the way. A mission select makes mopping-up convenient upon completion. Note, however, you will need either two controllers to unlock the co-op trophies, or try to get them online.

Expect roughly 20-25 hours for the Platinum.

NOTE TO COMPLETIONISTS: The DLC has been removed from the PlayStation Store in certain regions, such as the US and Canada. It's been reported to still be available in Europe and Australia. The DLC contains 8 additional trophies, and cannot be unlocked unless your region copy of the game matches the region of the DLC. If you have a US or Canadian copy, you will forever be stuck with 85% completion after obtaining the Platinum.

In a nutshell, you'll need to do at least two full playthroughs: one on Super Heroic, which unlocks Legendary, then another on Legendary. Your second playthrough will be a New Game+, allowing you to keep your characters and stats. All your progress is stackable, and a mission select is later available through the Simulator.

During your two playthroughs, you'll want to focus on not dying for the Undefeated Heroes and Immortal Heroics trophies, complete all the optional mission objectives, find all collectibles, and complete 24 maps in co-op. The more of this you can complete during your two playthroughs, the less you'll need to mop-up afterwards in the mission select.

Captain America: Super Solider

Based on the film Captain America: The First Avenger, the game is a third-person action adventure with an athletic combat system, in a story taking place during events of the movie. Captain America: Super Soldier also features many voice talents from the film.

When two U.S. soldiers are being attacked by HYDRA forces, Captain America leaps in to save the day. He's soon briefed on Project: Master Man, and how Dr. Arnim Zola is unlocking the secrets of the human genome in order to discover immortality. Captain America must travel the globe and stop this from happening, before HYDRA can take over the world.

Like most movie-adapted games, Captain America: Super Soldier received ho-hum reviews, with an average score of 61%, praised for its combat moves and overall fun, but criticized for the bland CG.

This is a low 2-star difficulty, as the Platinum is not particularly challenging. There's no trophy related to the difficulty mode, so you can simply play on easy. There's collectibles along the way, which you can find using one of the Walkthroughs under our Links tab, and a final Challenge at the end.

More challenging than Hannah Montana, but easier than any of the Uncharted games. The Platinum can be unlocked in under 12 hours.

There's no trophy related to playing on the difficulty modes, so if you're in a rush for that Platinum, just select the easiest mode and start working through the story.

The vast majority of the trophies are all story related, with only two exceptions. Some trophies are for finding collectibles, such as enemy schematics and diaries - which you can use the Walkthroughs in our Links page to find. The other are a few combat related challenges, which you can use the Captain America Super Solider trophy guide links under our Links tab for tips.

Also, make sure that when you complete the game, you watch the final cutscene and credits for another trophy.

By now, after that one playthrough, you should have most of the trophies. All that's left is the Challenge Mode, which unlocks after completing the story. You must complete all the challenges with Gold rankings in order to acquire the remaining trophies. Compared to Challenge of the Gods in God of War, the Captain America challenges are a piece of cake!
