Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is an arcade-style fighting game, and a crossover with Capcom's Street Fighter and Marvel superhero characters. The game is the fifth installment in the Marvel vs Capcom series, and the first to use three-dimensional characters rather than sprites. Players select teams of three characters to battle in tag team gameplay, with the ability to call on off-screen characters to perform single moves in an "assist." The controls have been simplified from its predecessor, using a three-button control scheme rather than four.
Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds received positive reviews with an average score of 85%, praised for its selection of characters, gameplay, and the game's new simplified combat mechanics.
Compared to other fighting games, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is certainly easier and less time consuming than Street Fighter IV, but more challenging than the Tekken titles. On top of the skills required for unlocking the offline trophies, and the long grind, there are 12 online trophies which, done legitimately, brings this difficulty score to a high 3-star. With a boosting partner, this could be a low 3-star difficulty, as the offline still adds quite a challenge and some time.
Expect roughly 30 hours of game time for the Platinum for experienced players with boosting partners, and far more for those without.
Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds doesn't require much of a roadmap, as you can work on the trophies in any order. The only thing to keep in mind is that you'll need to rack up PP in order to unlock all the characters, which are necessary to earn some of the trophies.
Also, it should be noted that most of the trophies, unless stated otherwise, can be earned on Very Easy mode.
If you're looking for a place to start playing and get used to the game, you can head into Challenge mode. Here, you can get used to the characters and their moves.
But if you prefer to just jump into the action, you can start working through Arcade mode. You'll need to complete Arcade mode with every character for the Waiting For The Trade trophy. Along the way, you will be earning PP and unlocking a number of other trophies naturally.
Whenever you feel your skills are adequate enough, you can head into online, where another 12 trophies await to being unlocked. Some of these are very challenging, depending on your skills. If you're looking for a boosting partner to make these easier, check out the forums under our Links tab.
