Grim Fandango: Remastered

Grim Fandango Remastered is a point-and-click adventure first released on the PC in 1998, and remastered with trophy support for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Players collect and examine objects, use them to solve puzzles, and converse with other characters while selecting questions and responses in the dialogue. The game uses 3D graphics which are overlaid on pre-rendered static backgrounds.

The game is set in the Land of the Dead, where souls await before venturing onto the Land of Eternal Rest via travel packages. Manuel "Manny" Calavera is a travel agent at the Department of Death who soon learns that trouble is brewing at the agency.

The original Grim Fandango received critical acclaim with an average score of 94%, praised for its visual design and environment, interesting characters, puzzle-solving, and story.

Like any point-and-click adventure, the game is incredibly easy if you're following a walkthrough. All the trophies can be unlocked in a single playthrough. With a walkthrough to guide you, and a few strategically placed back-up saves just in case, the Platinum for the game is both quick and easy.

With a guide, the Platinum can be unlocked in under 8 hours if you are text-skipping, and around 13-15 hours if you're reading everything.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 share the same list with those on the PS Vita.

It's important to first mention that as soon as the game begins, head into Controls and select the "Tank" setting. Completing the game on this setting is required for The Right Way trophy.

If you wish to simply play and enjoy the game without any spoilers, then we suggest making a save at the start of each Year, which you can then reload to unlock any trophies you missed. You'll still unlock a good chunk of trophies through your playthrough.

However, if you're in a rush for that Platinum, then check over the Grim Fandango trophy guide links under our Links tab, and follow one of the walkthroughs in order to get every trophy on a single playthrough.

Even if you're following a walkthrough, it's still a good idea to make a save at the start of each Year, just in case you mess something up and need to back-track.

Finally, if you're really in a rush for that Platinum, you can skip through text. Doing so will probably knock-off around four or five hours of your completion time.

Enjoy!

Star Wars The Force Unleashed Trophy Guide

Star Wars The Force Unleashed Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ***  A third-person action title based on the Star Wars franchise, taking place between the films Episode III and Episode IV. The majority of the trophies are doable, but playing on its hardest difficulty setting is a real challenge.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is not just a game, but a vast project by LucasArts, which spawned action figures, collectibles, cards, comic books, and even a sequel. The game was released on every possible console, from PlayStation 3 to smartphones, and utilizes several new game engines such as DMM for creating different effects when destroying objects of different materials, and Euphoria for more realistic non-player character's AI.

The story takes place between events of Episode III and Episode IV, in which you play as Starkiller, Darth Vader's personal apprentice and assassin. After killing several Jedi who are in hiding, Vader unleashes a new objective - killing Emperor Palpatine in a complex plot to form a rebellion against him. During the story, Starkiller begins to question his own loyalty to Vader.

The game received very mixed reviews, with an average rating of 72%. Force Unleashed was praised for its dramatic story (which many online magazines remark, is more interesting than the plots of the Star Wars prequels themselves) and excellent voice acting, but criticized for its linear gameplay and glitches, particularly with the difficult targeting system.

For more information, check out our Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Review.

This is a high 3-star rating. The Platinum is extremely challenging due to a single trophy: Sith Master, which requires you to complete the game on its most difficult mode. Please believe us that, regardless what you've heard on other websites - the Sith Master trophy is NOT a piece of cake! Far, far more difficult and frustrating than any "difficult mode" we've come across on any other game.

If not for the Sith Master trophy, Force Unleashed would have received a 2-star rating, for the other trophies are quite doable.

Using many of the cheats in this game WILL DISABLE the trophies. However, there is a way to bypass this! Check out our Links tab for directions on how to do this. Some of these cheats are simply new costumes, but others will give you full force powers, as well as unlock Sith mode (which normally cannot be unlocked unless you've completed the game on a lower difficulty setting) which should help you get through the game.

We would recommend playing the game on an easier mode first, with cheats enabled, so that you can check you've followed the directions correctly and are still earning trophies. During this time, you can follow the walkthroughs under our Links tab for finding all the holocrons for the Holocron Collector, and the Star Wars The Force Unleashed trophy guide links for other minor trophies along the way.

Even with the cheats enabled, playing the game on Sith mode is still very difficult - particularly the boss battles. On the bright side, with full force powers, you needn't waste time running around finding holocrons, which means on certain levels you can simply run through to the next checkpoint without having to kill everyone in sight. This will save you some time.

Good luck, and May the Force Be With You!

Day of the Tentacle Remastered Trophy Guide

Day of the Tentacle Remastered

Day of the Tentacle Remastered is a point-and-click adventure first released on the PC in 1993 as a sequel to Maniac Mansion, then remastered and ported onto the PlayStation 4 in 2016. The player-character is directed by using a set of nine different commands which involve picking up or using items, talking to other characters, or moving about, in order to solve puzzles and move the game forward.

Taking place five years following the events of Maniac Mansion, a mutant creature created by Dr. Fred Edison named Purple Tentacle drinks a toxic sludge that allows it to grow both in size and intelligence. Using time travel, Bernard Bernoulli and his friends Hoagie and Laverne must stop this event from happening before Purple Tentacle takes over the world.

The original Day of the Tentacle received critical acclaim, praised for its humor, cartoony animation, and for being a vast improvement over its prequel.

Being a point-and-click adventure game, Day of the Tentacle Remastered doesn't require much skill. As long as you're careful and collect all the missable trophies, the platinum can be earned in one playthrough.

If you're following a Day of the Tentacle Remastered trophy guide and walkthrough from our Links page, than the platinum can be earned in roughly 5 hours.

If you're going for the platinum in one playthrough, then there are some missable trophies you should be aware of. The first is the Mental Patience trophy, which requires you to play the whole game without skipping any cutscenes. So, be sure to avoid holding the Circle button. However, it is still safe to press the X button to move through the text quicker. Also, make sure to sit through the end credits to unlock the Take On The Words trophy.

Also, if you are following a walkthrough and therefore playing the game perfectly, you may end up needing to grind for the Master Plumber trophy, which involves flushing a total of 50 items through the Chron-o-Johns to share inventory items with the other player-characters.

Finally, there are a few trophies which require you to "Give" items to another character, such as handing the help wanted sign with Red's billboard to Edison for the Moronic Drone trophy. Select the "Use" option in these cases, as the "Give" selection will not unlock the trophy.

Otherwise, the remaining trophies that are not story related will require to be unlocked at various points in the game. Check out the Day of the Tentacle Remaster trophy guide links in our Links page to get familiar with the trophies' requirements, and by following one of the walkthroughs, you should be fine.

We also recommend making several save slots which you can reload should you miss anything.
