Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, is an action-adventure stealth game, first released on the PlayStation 2 in 2004, then re-released for the PlayStation 3 with trophy support as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in 2011.

Set in 1964 during the Cold War, FOX operative Naked Snake wanders through a Russian jungle in search of a defective Soviet weapons designer named Sokolov, who has been developing a nuclear-equipped tank named the Shagohod. Though assisted over the radio by Major Zero, Para-Medic, and The Boss, Snake's missions are rarely without twists and surprises, and this one is no exception.

The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater on the PlayStation 2 received outstanding reviews, with an average score of 91%, praised for its incredible details, beautiful visuals and cinematics, and complex but engaging plot.

Considering you can play the game on Very Easy mode, and that it's possible (if you're careful and follow a guide) to earn all the trophies in one playthrough, this game is significantly easier than its prequel, Sons of Liberty.

There are a vast number of collectibles to find, including several missable trophies, and at least one playthrough where you can't kill anyone. Follow one of the guides in our Links page to a T, and you should have yourself a new Platinum.

If you've already played this on the PlayStation 2, then you're at a great advantage to knowing where to go and how to defeat the bosses. If not, then don't fret. Just follow the walkthroughs and guides under our Links tab, and you'll be fine.

If you plan on earning this platinum in one playthrough, then you'll need two things: a guide which you'll have to follow strictly, and multiple saves in case you miss a missable trophy. There are no chapter selects, so missing a trophy means playing the game again.

Since there is no trophy related to the difficulty mode, you may as well select Very Easy, unless you simply like challenges. But playing on Very Easy also equips you with the EZ Gun, which holds an infinite ammount of tranquilizers. In order to unlock the Peace Walker trophy, you will need to play through the game without killing anyone, so the tranquilizer is a handy tool.

So, play the game from beginning to end, remember not to kill anyone, continuously save along the way, and follow the guides to find all the collectible and missable trophies, and you should have a new Platinum after 15-20 hours of gameplay.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Trophy Guide

Metal Gear Solid 2 Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ***  A revamp of the original stealth game released in 2001 on the PlayStation 2. The Platinum is both time-consuming and challenging at times, requiring 5 full playthroughs on each difficulty mode.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty was first released on the PlayStation 2 in 2001, and is a sequel to the 1998 Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation One. In November of 2011, the game was re-released for the PlayStation 3 In HD with trophy support, as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which also included Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is a third-person stealth action game, and the fourth Metal Gear game produced and directed by Hideo Kojima. In a prologue taking place two years after the events of Metal Gear Solid, Solid Snake and Octocon are now members of Philanthropy, a non-governmental organization, investigating the development of the new Metal Gear RAY. The story then jumps two years later, and introduces Raiden - a rookie agent for FOXHOUND and the main character in the game - who is attempting to rescue hostages, including the US president, from the Sons of Liberty terrorist group.

The original metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for the PlayStation 2 received high praise, with an average score of 95%, winning several Game of the Year awards from multiple gaming magazines, and was generally considered quite an advanced game in its time.

This game is both time consuming and will require a fair amount of skill. If you've already mastered the game on the PlayStation 2, then acquiring the Platinum shouldn't be overtly difficult. If this is your first time to play Metal Gear Solid 2, then you're in for a bit of a challenge.

You will need to play through the game at least 5 times, once for each difficulty mode. This is the minimum, considering you managed to find all the collectibles, such as dog tags, along the way. If not, you'll be playing the game 6 or 7 times. Also, the VR missions and some boss battles, especially when playing on the harder difficulty modes, can be extremely difficult and will require a lot of skill, patience and persistence.

Since you'll be playing this game five times, you'll want to first start on Very Easy and try to obtain the majority of the trophies along the way. This will also include collecting all the dog tags on this setting, as well as getting the Complete Stealth trophy out of the way, which involves clearing the entire game without setting off any alert modes. Aside from the story-related trophies, you'll also want to aim for Animal Control, Down In Smoke, To Catch A Predator, Hurt Locker, Kissing Booth, Photo Finish, Steel Grip, Steamed, Sexting, Johny On The Spot, Vamp Eyer, Who Ya Gonna Call, and Moving Day.

After your first playthrough, select Casting Theatre from the options menu and watch the clips featuring the different characters to acquire the Love Hurts trophy.

Next, load up your clear game data and play through on Easy mode. In this playthrough, you'll be aiming for the Bye Bye Big Brother, Don't Taze Me Bro, Silcence Is Golden, Nothing Personal, Rent Money, Yorkie, and Beagle trophies.

by now you should have a pretty good feel for the game and know where to go, with only a few trophies to collect. Start your next playthrough on Medium and focus on collecting the dog tags. By the end, you should have the Poodle and Shiba Inu trophies.

Your next playthrough will be on Hard difficulty, collecting all the dog tags, and earn the S.Bernard trophy.

Next is your Extreme difficulty playthrough. Find all the dog tags, and earn the Great Dane trophy.

Only a few more trophies to go. On the Main Menu, select Special and Boss Survival. Once you've completed all the boss encounters, you'll get the No Boss Of Mine trophy.

Next are the 5 alternate missions on the Snake Tales, which will earn you the Tell Me A Tale trophy.

Last, is one of the most difficult challenges: completing every VR Mission with each character and beating the top score. This will hopefully net you the final three trophies: Piece Of Cake, In It To Win It, and Virtually Impossible.

Unless there's any mopping-up you still need to do, simply lean back and enjoy watching that Platinum bling on your screen. You deserved it.
