Jak II HD

Jak II HD, also known as Jak II: Renegade in Europe, is a third-person action platformer, and a sequel to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, and was originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2003, then revamped in HD for the PlayStation 3 in 2012.

Taking place in the same fictional location as its prequel, Daxter manages to break Jak out of prison after being locked away by Baron Praxis for two years. Together, they join the Underground, a rebel organisation to take down the Baron and stop his tyranny.

The original Jak II on the PlayStation 2 met with positive reviews, scoring an average of 91%, for its fun adventure, interesting characters, and departure from the prequel's more linear gameplay.

This game is significantly more frustrating and time consuming than its prequel, hence the 2-star difficulty rating. At least one playthrough is required, with mopping-up and some grinding afterwards. However, there is a trick - commonly known as the Orb Glitch - which can shave a good 15-20 hours off your gameplay, thereby bringing this difficulty score to a high 1-star.

Legitimately, the Platinum could take between 30-40 hours.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 have a separate list from those on the PS3 and PS Vita.

For the most part, you can start simply by playing the game from beginning to end. Depending on whether you chose to use the Orb Glitch or not, however, will decide how careful you are during your initial playthrough.

There are a total of 286 Precursor Orbs in the game, and you'll need to collect all of them for The Collectionator trophy. If you're going after this trophy legitimately, then you'll need to worry about the 7 located in the Metal Head Nest which can only be reached at the end of the story, and not after. This means, if you miss these 7 Orbs, then The Collectionator trophy can become missable.

Once you finish the story, you should have the vast majority of the trophies. Most likely, you will still need to find the remaining Precursor Orbs, which involves quite a lot of searching and grinding. Also, the game doesn't list in which areas you've already collected the Orbs, making this rather frustrating.

However, there is the famous Orb Glitch. Simply load up an Orb Hunt side mission, race to the Precursor Orb, and leap over it. In mid-air, pause the game and select Restart Mission. Jak will fall on the Orb during the load, and you can restart the mission to collect it again. Though it will take awhile to reach 286 Orbs, this method is far faster than searching on your own.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy HD

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy HD is a platform adventure game, originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2001 and redone in HD with trophy support for the PlayStation 3 in 2012. Players must gather items in order to progress through the game, while avoid hazards, attack enemies, and solve platforming puzzles.

Jak is on a quest to help his friend Daxter who has transformed into an otter and weasel hybrid called an ottsel. During which, they must save their world from Gold and Maia, who threaten to flood everything with Dark Eco.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy on the PS2 received high praise, with an average score of 90%, for its graphics, light-hearted action, and overall fun.

The majority of the trophies are story-related, with the exception of finding collectibles and a few mini-games. Only one playthrough is required, with the freedom to return and unlock any other trophies afterwards, which means there are no missable trophies.

Should only take the average player 10-15 hours to claim the Platinum.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 have a separate list from those on the PS3 and PS Vita.

You will be able to return to previous areas after completing the game, so on your first playthrough you can simply play and enjoy yourself. Grab any collectibles you happen to come across, and only do the side quests if you feel like it. In the end, you will already have unlocked the majority of the trophies.

Once that's finished, it's time to mop-up. This means finding all the power cells, scout files, and precursor orbs, as well as any other trophies you may have missed during the initial playthrough.
