Mirror’s Edge

Mirror's Edge is a first-person action-adventure platformer, and one of the first few titles on the PS3 to possess trophy support. Players run, leap, wall-climb, slide under barriers, and battle enemies to reach their goal over the rooftops in a futuristic dystopian society.

The player-character is Faith, a "runner" who transmits messages as a courier while evading government surveillance by travelling through ventilation shafts and leaping across rooftops. After learning her sister has been framed for murder, Faith must track clues in order to discover the true culprit, and why.

Mirror's Edge received positive reviews, with an average score of 78%, praised for its unique environment and overall gameplay, but criticized for its weak storyline and shortness.

While there's no online trophies to worry about, and the game itself is relatively short, the 4-star rating is for the difficulty involved with some of the challenge-specific trophies. This Platinum requires a vast amount of skill and patience.

Expect roughly 40-50 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills.

Since you'll need at least two playthroughs anyway, we recommend starting the game on Easy mode. After completing the tutorial, you'll want to focus on finding all the bags in each level, as well as several other miscellaneous trophies along the way. This can include the Test Of Faith trophy, which requires you not to shoot any enemies throughout your playthrough. These trophies are far easier to unlock during your Easy mode run.

Once you've completed your first playthrough, you'll have unlocked Hard mode. Start your next playthrough, and use this opportunity to mop-up anything you were missing in your first run. Since you've already played through the game on Easy, Hard shouldn't be too bad, since you're now familiar with the paths to take.

Unfortunately, the hard part is still to come. First, you'll need to earn 50 stars in the Time Trials. Since there are 23 trials, this means you will need at least two stars in most of them, with three stars in at least four of them. One good trick is to download a ghost that has two or three stars, and learn their moves. Or, you can buy the Pure Timi Trials DLC, which adds an extra nine trials, making it easier to collect more stars.

Finally, we've saved the best for last: the Speedruns. These are by far the hardest part of the game, and the reason for the 4-star difficulty rating. Check out some of the videos under our Links tab to see how other players managed to complete them, if you're having trouble.

Battlefield 3

As the twelfth game in the Battlefield series, and a direct sequel to Battlefield 2 on the PC, Battlefield 3 is a military first-person shooter in which players take on various characters in several locations.

While investigating a hidden bunker in Iran, Staff Sergeant Henry "Black" Blackburn and his squad learn that a hostile militia - known as the PLR - have acquired two Russian nuclear devices, and plan to unleash them in New York and Paris. Blackburn must work against the clock, and the CIA, to stop the PLR from blowing up the cities.

The game features a co-op mode in addition to the standard single player campaign, as well as an online mode. Battlefield 3 was hailed by game critics, with an average score of 87% for its great graphics and fantastic multiplayer experience.

Like most first-person shooters, getting the platinum on Battlefield 3 will require some serious FPS skills and many hours of gameplay. You'll need to complete the campaign on its hardest difficulty, complete the co-op campaign on its hardest difficulty while grinding for XP, then put over fifty hours into online play.

Expect around 100 hours of gameplay for the Platinum, depending on your skills.

There's a number of chapter-related challenge trophies to acquire, so we recommend starting the game on Easy and going for those. Check out the Battlefield 3 trophy guide links under our Links tab for further details on those. Considering how many hours you'll need to put into the game later on, playing the campaign twice - once on Easy, once on Hard - will only save you from frustration. However, if you've got some serious FPS skills, then by all means play through on Hard the first time round.

Next, you can try to get the Co-op trophies out of the way. You'll need to find a partner who'll stay with you for all 6 missions, and help one another get the Co-op specific trophies. Again, like the campaign, you can first focus on those trophies by playing on Easy (takes only a couple hours) or just go straight to Hard if you don't mind frustration. After which, you'll need to grind for XP in order to unlock all the Co-op weapons for the Lock'n'Load trophy. We've posted a forum under our Links tab to look for a boosting partner.

Lastly, here comes the main course of this vast cuisine: the online play. This is where you'll be spending well over fifty hours boosting your XP till you reach Rank 45, as well as a number of other trophies along the way.

Good luck!

Battlefield Bad Company Trophy Guide

Battlefield: Bad Company

Battlefield: Bad Company is a first-person shooter, set in the near future during a war between the United States and the Russian Federation. The player belongs to a four-man squad from B-Company - nicknamed "Bad Company" for their reputation of being troublemakers.

After seizing the city of Zabograd, the squad finds an encampment of mercenaries, known as the Legionnaires, who are paid for their services in gold bars. After chasing a Legionnaire truck loaded with gold into a neutral country, the group decides to abandon their previous mission and go after the gold for themselves.

The game received generally high praise for its realistic destructible environments, impressive weapons and vast multiplayer platform.

The offline trophies aren't particularly difficult, though they require two playthroughs - one on Normal, the other on Hard.

But the online trophies will require many, many hours of gameplay. The Be The Best trophy, unless boosting with friends, will need some serious skills for becoming the top player in a ranked match. And Beans Bullets Bandages requires you to get 10,002 kills. This can be extremely time consuming.

NOTE: As of March 2015, the Catch The Bad Moment trophy has been patched, making it - and the Platinum - obtainable once again.

All the offline trophies can be collected in two playthroughs. Playing the game on Hard will NOT unlock the trophies for Normal.

Start on Normal to get a feel for the game, and use this opportunity to collect most of the trophies along the way. Use the walkthroughs under our Links tab to locate all the gold, for the Gold Digger trophy. Most of the other trophies you'll receive naturally during the course of the game, and remember to blow holes in walls rather than use the door for the Home Wrecker trophy. Once you have all those, then select Hard and mop up the rest of the offline trophies.

The online trophies are what's going to take up the majority of your time. A friend with the game required for the With My Devil Dogs trophy. Others, such as getting 10,002 kills for the Beans Bullets Bandages trophy, and getting 37,000 points to reach Rank 25 for the General Of The Army trophy are the most time-consuming.

Good luck!

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Trophy Guide

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ***  A sequel to the 2008 first-person shooter Battlefield: Bad Company. Still requires a fair bit of skill and time, but the Platinum is significantly easier than its predecessor.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

A sequel to the 2008 hit game, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a first-person shooter. Players kill their enemies with a variety of weapons, including taking control of such vehicles as tanks, helicopters, ATVs, and APCs. The game features both offline and online play.

The squad from the first game is currently in Russia, evading soldiers and attempting to secure a scalar weapon device. After learning the weapon is a fake, the Army General is nonetheless impressed with the squad's efforts, and so transfers them into the Special Activities Division, along with a new mission: contact Agent James Aguire in in Bolivia.

the game received overall high scores, with an average rating of 92%. Most critics agreed that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was an improvement to its predecessor, with stunning visuals, details, and overall fun online play.

As you can see, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is easier to Platinum than its predecessor. Mainly, because you aren't required to make 10,002 kills. Instead, the online trophies are far easier and much more doable.

Expect about 50 hours of gameplay, in total.

If you've played the first Bad Company, then you should be familiar with the layout and trophy challenges. We recommend beginning the campaign on Easy and collect as many trophies during your playthrough as possible, including the "kill" trophies, destroying houses and destructible objects, all 22 satellites, and collecting all types of weapons.

You don't need to play through a second time on Hard, for the It Sucks To Be Right trophy only requires that you finish the Airborn mission on Hard. Just use My Campaign to select the Airborn mission and make sure you change the setting to Hard.

That's it for the offline. The online trophies, as mentioned earlier, are far easier challenges than the first Bad Company game and, depending on your skills, can be completed around 20-30 hours of gameplay. The only tricky trophy is Et Tu, Brute? which requires you to knife a friend 5 times. Just make sure you manage to be on the opposite team as your buddy. Note: you can knife the same person five times, and it doesn't need to be in the same round.

Battlefield 4 PS4

Battlefield 4 is a military first-person shooter, and a sequel to the 2011 Battlefield 3. Multiplayer is included, in which players can play as either three factions: the U.S., China, or Russia, with up to 64 player matches. Five downloadable packs are available, each with five sets of trophies.

In the year 2020, six years following the events of Battlefield 3, tension has continued to rise between the U.S. and Russia, while Admiral Chang is pursuing a plan to take control of the Chinese government and ally themselves with Russia. Recker, the player-character and squad leader, is sent on a covert mission to China to stop Chang from taking control.

Battlefield 4 received highly positive reviews, with an average score of 84%, praised for its multiplayer experience, and fun, exciting campaign with great graphics.

While not as difficult as previous Battlefield titles, the 3-star difficulty rating is for the time required, as well as a certain level of FPS skills required, particularly in the multiplayer portion of the game. The campaign consists of mainly story-related, collectibles, and mission-specific trophies. There are 5 online trophies, one which requires you to reach rank 25.

Overall, the campaign is short and is possible to complete in around 12 hours, depending on the route you take. The multiplayer heavily depends on your skills, and could take between 30-50 hours.

The first step is going through the campaign and collecting all the offline trophies, of which there are 37. Essentially, there are three things you'll need to do: clear the game on Hard difficulty, find all the collectibles, and unlock the 6 mission-specific trophies. So yes, it's possible to earn all the campaign trophies in one go, though it depends on your confidence in your skills. You may wish to play the game on Easy, find the collectibles and do the mission-specific challenges, then a second playthrough on Hard. Or, just do everything on Hard. It's up to you. Keep in mind, however, the campaign is not particularly long, so a second playthrough won't take a huge chunk out of your time.

There are 5 multiplayer trophies to gather next. You will need to reach rank 25 for the Call Me Sir trophy, which is where a lot of time will be spent. The Bomb Squad trophy is probably the most difficult, though luckily can also be boosted. Check out the trophy guides and boosting forums in our Links page for help.
