Strider

Strider is a side-scrolling platforming hack and slash action game, and a reboot of the original 1989 title. The player-character Hiryu battles enemies by main plasma weapon, the Cypher. Players are free to explore each environment in search of other weapons, items, and upgrades.

Taking place in the fictional metropolis of Kazakh City, the Strider organization has sent out their deadliest assassin, Hiryu against the evil Grandmaster Meio.

Strider received positive reviews with an average score of 77%, praised for remaining faithful to the original while updating the visuals, and its overall fun, while criticized by some for repetitive gameplay.

The game requires at least two playthroughs, one on Normal and another on Hard mode difficulty. There is also a trophy required for making a speed-run in under four hours, as well as multiple collectibles to find. While the game is quite short, it can be tricky and even frustrating at times, particularly on Hard mode.

About 10-15 hours are required for the Platinum, depending on your skills and how many playthroughs are done.

If you wish to get the Platinum in only two playthroughs, then we recommend starting your first run on Hard mode, in order to unlock the Special Class-A trophy. The enemies have more health, and you take more damage. Hard mode may seem quite difficult at first, but gets easier once you start getting upgrades, and take your time.

During your first playthrough, you should also be looking for all the collectibles. This includes all 7 energy upgrades for the You've Got The Power trophy, all 11 fallen Striders for the Remember The Fallen trophy, all 6 health upgrades for the Health Nut trophy, all 4 Kunai upgrades for the Cuts Like A Knife trophy, and all 10 large canisters for the Collector Of Collecting trophy.

Also, during this playthrough, you'll want to go for the missable trophies, which include completing the Balrog without falling for the Didn't Miss A Beat trophy, defeating 20 enemies using a panther for the Eye Of The Tiger trophy, defeating 20 consecutive enemies without getting hit for the Untouchable trophy, defeating 10 enemies using reflect for the I'm Rubber You're Glue trophy, and maxing out the hit meter 25 times for the Meet Cypher's Edge trophy. Be sure to check out the Strider trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details.

If you can get all those missables, as well as find all the collectibles, then with the story-related trophies included, you should have nearly all the trophies by the time you finish your playthrough on Hard mode.

Finally, for your second playthrough, select Normal difficulty, which you'll still need to complete for the Class-A Ninja trophy, since the difficulty-related trophies don't stack. Here is where you'll need to complete the game in under 4 hours for the Speed Demon trophy. Avoid attacking enemies whenever you can, and move quicker by sliding, which can later be chained with catapult. Pausing the game, or even dying, does not count towards the timer, so feel free to pause in order to check the map, or kill yourself if you think you're taking too much time on a particular stage.

After your speed-run, and if you've gotten all the other trophies on your first playthrough, you should have the Platinum after completing your second playthrough.

Front Mission Evolved Trophy Guide

Front Mission Evolved Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ***  A third-person mech shooter, and the eleventh title in the Front Mission series. The Platinum is more time consuming than challenging, with some grinding required.

Game Name Difficulty Trophies Developer Country Bronze Silver Gold Online DLC
Front Mission Evolved *** 28 Double Helix Games U.S. 13 8 6 7 0

Front Mission Evolved

Front Mission Evolved is a third-person "mech" shooter, and the eleventh game in the Front Mission franchise which began by Square on the SNES. Players take control of walking tanks, known as Wanderung Panzers, which can be customized, as they battle enemies. The game also features an online multiplayer mode. Front Mission Evolved, while taking place after the previous titles, is a reboot of the series.

Taking place in 2171, countries have formed global blocks, and look towards space to expand their colonization, making orbital elevators a valuable asset. USN engineer Dylan Ramsey climbs into a prototype wanzer and sets off for New York City, worried about his father after the area was attacked by unknown forces.

Front Mission Evolved received lukewarm reviews, with an average score of 59%, praised for the customization features, but criticized for its lack of polish. The decision to switch from tactical-RPG to third-person shooter received mixed reviews.

This 3-star rating is mainly due to the grinding required for the online trophies. Not only do you need to find players for specific types of matches, but you need to win those matches as well. On top of which, reaching Rank 70 will take a good portion of your time.

The good news is, the offline trophies are easier than average, and even possible to acquire in one playthrough, depending on your skills. If you have a boosting partner, this difficulty rating could be brought down to a 2-star.

With a boosting partner, expect around 40 hours of gameplay. Without, you will probably need to dedicate over 80 hours.

Hard difficulty isn't too bad, and starting your playthrough on this mode could net you most - if not all - the offline trophies in one go. However, if it's proving to be a grind, then play on Easy and build up on stronger weapons and tech parts, which will make your second playthrough on Hard much easier. The choice is yours.

Either way, you should follow one of the guides under our Links tab to collect all the Sensors, Emblems, and Scramblers. There are also a few combat-related trophies to earn along the way, so check out the Front Mission Evolved trophy guide links under our Links tab for what you need. All of these can be earned during your first playthrough. If you miss any, simply use the chapter select to mop-up anything you miss afterwards.

With the offline trophies out of the way, you can move on to the real chore: earning the 7 online trophies. As we stated earlier, having a good boosting party not only makes these much easier, but gives you the ability to play (and let win) the specific multiplayer matches and modes that you need. Otherwise, you'll need to start up a match of your choosing and wait for players to join - then hopefully win. Also, reaching Rank 70 for the My Hero Zero trophy will take some serious grinding - particularly in the beginning, before you can earn better equipment for your mech.

G. I. Joe The Rise of Cobra Trophy Guide

G I Joe The Rise of Cobra Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  A third-person action shooter based on the 2009 film of the same name. Fairly average in terms of difficulty and requires two full playthroughs, and even easier if playing with a partner.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a third-person action shooter, based on the 2009 film of the same name. Players make their way through missions with a partner, either an NPC or two-player co-op, using various characters each with distinct classes. Only Joseph Gordon-Levitt reprises his role as Cobra Commander, while the other characters are performed by voice actors.

Taking place following the events of the film, Cobra is plotting several schemes across the globe, and it's up to the members of G.I. Joe to stop each and every one of them, taking them to the Arctic, Egypt, a jungle, and finally the North Pole.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra received generally lukewarm to negative reviews, with an average score of 49%, mainly criticized for its repetitiveness and overall poor graphics and presentation.

This is a low 2-star rating, as the game is far easier than Assassin's Creed II or any of the Uncharted titles. If playing with a friend, it's possible to get the majority of the trophies in one playthrough, with some mopping-up afterwards. If playing on your own, most likely you will need two full run-throughs. There are a number of collectibles to gather, as well.

Despite not having any online trophies, there are a few which require at least a second controller. If playing on your own, these can be tricky, though are possible. With a friend, they're extremely easy. Also, it's worth mentioning there's a glitch which allows for a certain player-character to become invincible, also adding to the ease of the game.

Overall, expect to get the Platinum after 15-25 hours of gameplay, depending whether or not you have a partner to play with.

If you have a friend to play with, you can jump into Hardcore mode. However, if you're playing on your own, you may want to start on Casual, since at times you'll need to be handling two controllers at once.

During your first playthrough, you will need at least one mission cleared with two-player co-op. Though there are a few other co-op related trophies which you'll need to perform, as well. In addition, there are a number of trophies related to playing missions with particular characters or character classes, so you can get those out of the way as well. As you make your way through the game, make sure to follow one of the walkthroughs or guides under our Links tab to find all the collectibles, such as the File and Intel cards.

Once that's done, and if you haven't do so already, you can move on to Hardcore. This can be frustrating at times, because if you die, you will need to replay the entire mission. Also, you cannot revive a downed Joe.

After that, if there are any trophies you're missing, simply use the Mission Select to get what you need, and follow the advice in the G I Joe The Rise of Cobra trophy guide links under our Links tab.

Green Lantern Rise of the Manhunters Trophy Guide

Green Lantern Rise of the Manhunters Trophy Guide. Difficulty: *  A third-person action adventure based on the 2011 film Green Lantern. An easy Platinum that can be unlocked in one playthrough if played on Hard mode from the beginning.

Game Name Difficulty Trophies Developer Country Bronze Silver Gold Online DLC
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters * 41 Double Helix Games U.S. 27 9 4 0 0

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is a third-person action adventure, based on the 2011 film Green Lantern, which in turn is adapted from the DC Comic. The game includes 3D visuals, and features many of the same voice talents from the actors in the film, including Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern.

The Manhunters, an android race created to serve as an interstellar police force, were banished after preferring to administer punishment rather than serve justice. Now, the Manhunters have returned and are looking for revenge, and only the Green Lantern Corp can stop them.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters received lukewarm reviews, with an average score of 60%, stated to have average graphics, presentation, and being overall a merely satisfactory game with no particular flaws nor mind-blowing aspects.

A fairly easy Platinum, and pretty standard as most movie-adapted game titles go. No online trophies to worry about. Only one playthrough if you select hard mode, which isn't very difficult, with some collectibles to find along the way, and a chapter select to mop-up afterwards.

Overall, should take around 10 hours to plat.

The fastest way to that platinum, is to select Emerald Knight difficulty, which is the hard mode of the game. Compared to hard modes of other games, Emerald Knight is not that difficult. If you have trouble with some of the boss battles, here's a nice little trick: plug in and activate a second controller to create a player two. If you die, simply grab the second controller and run around until your first player respawns after 10 seconds.

During your playthrough, you'll want to follow one of the walkthroughs or collectible guides in our Links page, to nab the 5 Blue Meteorites, and 9 Green Meteorites.

Once you've finished the game, you can use the Chapter Select to mop-up any trophies you missed. This will probably include purchasing all the upgrades, in which case we recommend replaying the last level over and over on Poozer difficulty to grind for energy.

Then, that's it. A shiny new Platinum to your collection!
