Medal of Honor
Medal of Honor is a first-person shooter, the thirteenth installment in the Medal of Honor series, being the first in a new reboot series, and is loosely based on Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan. The game features both a single player campaign, as well as online multiplayer which supports up to 24 players.
Set in 2001 at the beginning of the Afghanistan invasion, Tier 1 operatives of a Navy SEAL squad, call sign Neptune, are first sent to meet with an informant who has information on the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, leading the squad in a series of hostage rescues, undercover operations, and raiding enemy hideouts.
Medal of Honor received fairly positive reviews, with an average score of 75%, praised for its multiplayer and voice acting, though criticized for technical issues and limited differentiation from other popular FPS titles.
Like most first-person shooters, skills are essential in unlocking the Platinum. The offline trophies aren't too bad as far as FPS games go, though they do require a playthrough on Hard difficulty, as well as surviving a time trial challenge. However, there are 20 online trophies to unlock, one of which, Multiplayer: Fire Controller, requires you to reach a score chain of 600 points, which is very difficult to do. Boosting is possible, though will require a large group and a lot of co-ordination.
Overall, expect anywhere between 30-50 hours, depending on your FPS skills, and luck in the multiplayer.
Hard difficulty is available from the start, so if you're in a rush for that Platinum, we recommend starting your single-player campaign on that, since the difficulty-related trophies are stackable. However, if you don't feel confident in your skills and are fine with an extra playthrough, then you can try one of the easier levels first to get a feel for the game and its environment. We should note, however, that Hard difficulty on Medal of Honor isn't as bad as many other FPS titles.
Once you've cleared the Hard difficulty campaign, you can move onto the Tier 1 Challenge. This is a time trial in which you'll need to complete missions within the set time. This can be frustrating at times, particularly considering there are no checkpoints and dying means starting over. Check out the guides under our Links tab if you're having trouble. Completing the Tier 1 Challenge will net you the Conspicious Gallantry trophy.
Next, it's time to head into online multiplayer. there are four game types, and you will need to play for two hours in each, to unlock their corresponding trophy. The most difficulty trophy will be the Multiplayer: Fire Controller, where you need to use each of the seven offensive support actions, which you get by racking up your score chain. The highest is Level 7, Cruise Missile, which requires 600 points. It's possible to boost this, though you'll need to find a good group, large group of organized players.
If you've managed to do all that, then congratulations. The hard part is over. Now, simply use the mission select to mop-up any of the remaining offline trophies you still might be missing.
