Call of Juarez: The Cartel

Call of Juarez: The Cartel, is a first-person shooter and part of the "Call of Juarez" western series, though taking place in modern day Los Angeles and Mexico, where players take on the role of three different law enforcement agents.

After a bombing at the Drug Enforcement Administration office, three individuals are called in - Ben McCall, FBI agent Kimberly Evans, and DEA agent Eddie Guarra - to track down the Cartel they suspect are behind the attack, while protecting the daughter of an officer who died while investigating the Cartel.

The game received relatively negative reviews, with an average score of 47% for its dull story, poor presentation, and has even been accused of being racist and insensitive to real-life issues of human trafficking.

In comparison to Bound In Blood, The Cartel is considered a far easier Platinum. Three playthroughs are required, one for each of the three characters with one on Hard difficulty, though the game itself is not very long. Also, there's an "invincibility glitch" which can help you out without disabling the trophies.

There are 6 online trophies, which aren't too difficult or time-consuming, even if you work at them legitimately. Having a boosting partner would bring this rank down from a medium 2-star to a low 2-star.

First thing's first: the "Invincibility Glitch." When you start each chapter, work on filling up your Concentration Meter. When it's full, activate it by hitting Left on the D-pad, and immediately press Start, then reload the last checkpoint. From this point on, you will be invincible for the remainder of the chapter, except against helicopters, vehicle and barrel explosions, rocket launchers, and while driving a vehicle.

We recommend completing your first playthough on Easy difficulty, playing as Ben McCall. Here, you should be able to get the majority of the trophies. We have walkthroughs under our Links tab to help find all the collectibles, though for the most part they aren't difficult to locate. All other trophies, such as for head shots, etc. are stackable throughout the different playthroughs. Also, avoid killing any civilians to work towards the Clean Shot trophy. Since the game doesn't keep track which chapters you did/didn't kill civilians, you may want to write down any chapters you messed up on, so you'll know where to be especially careful the next time or when you use the Chapter Select. If you're using the invincibility glitch, you can simply run through the level and shoot only when necessary.

Next, play on Hard difficulty with Eddie Guarra. Again, try not to kill any civilians on those chapters you messed up on previously, try to mop up anything you missed, and help yourself to the invincibility glitch.

Last, you can head back into Easy difficulty, and play through as the final character, Kim Evans, while attempting to mop up any trophies you still need. By the end, you should have all the offline trophies. If not, simply use the Chapter Select.

And finally, there are the six multiplayer trophies. Many of these require at least one other player. While not incredibly necessary, having a boosting partner will make these trophies quicker to collect. Check out the forum we've posted under our Links tab if you can't find a buddy to play with.
