Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty: Ghosts is a first-person shooter and the tenth major installment in the Call of Duty series. The game also introduces a new Extinction mode, a 4-player co-op where players must survive against invading aliens known as Cryptids by destroying their hives across a map.

Ten years after the Federation of the Americas began a war with the US by hijacking their orbital super-weapon, Hesh and Logan Walker work with a special military unit known as Ghosts to bring an end to the war.

Call of Duty: Ghosts received generally positive reviews with an average score of 77%, praised for its newly introduced Extinction mode, multiplayer, and visuals, though criticized for its poor and short campaign story.

The campaign is relatively short, and arguably one of the easier Call of Duty titles to clear on Veteran mode. As most games in the series, there is a chapter select upon completion, so no missable trophies. While there is one online trophy for escaping with all four players in Extinction mode, you will probably want a partner or two to help with the other trophies in this mode. Overall, the Platinum is fairly average in terms of both difficulty and time required.

Expect around 25-35 hours for the Platinum, depending on skills, as well as how good a team you have for the Extinction mode.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 have a separate list from those on the PS3.

Veteran mode is available from the beginning. However, we recommend starting on Recruit difficulty and focus on collecting all the miscellaneous trophies during your first run on the Campaign.

During this playthrough, you’ll especially want to collect all 18 Rorke files for the Audiophile trophy, so follow one of the collectibles location guides under our Links tab. Most of the other trophies are level specific, so if you plan on getting them in one go, check out the Call of Duty Ghosts trophy guide links under our Links tab to get familiar with their requirements and when they come up in the game.

If you miss anything, fear not. There is a chapter select available.

Once you’ve finished your playthrough, you can use the chapter select now if you wish, to mop up any remaining miscellaneous Campaign-related trophies you’re still missing. Again, check out the Call of Duty Ghosts trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you still need and their requirements.

Next, if you haven’t done so already, it’s time for the playthrough on Veteran mode. Particularly since the Campaign is rather short, completing the game on Veteran is arguably easier than other games in the Call of Duty series. Doing so will unlock the You’ve Earned It trophy. Also, since the Piece Of Cake trophy is tied to Veteran mode, you should go for this one as well, during this playthrough.

After having completed the Campaign, you will have unlocked Extinction mode, which is a new mode introduced in Call of Duty: Ghosts, which is a survival-based game mode that involves destroying alien hives. There are a total of nine trophies connected with Extinction mode. The only one you will need co-op partners is for the No Man Left trophy which requires escaping with all four players in either Regular or Hardcore difficulty. While the other trophies don’t require online help, doing this solo can be quite challenging and frustrating. Be sure to check out the Co-op forums under our Links tab if you need to find some boosting partners.

Lastly, if you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to play and complete 20 rounds of safeguard for the Safeguard trophy. This involves fighting off waves of enemies, a mode which should be familiar to most veteran FPS players.

With all that done, you should have a new Platinum added to your collection.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a first-person shooter and the eleventh installment in the Call of Duty series. Players can perform Exo movements which allow for dashing, boosting, and making high jumps. Rather than a traditional heads-up display, information is given to the player through holographic projects. The game also includes online multiplayer and an Exo Survival co-op mode.

Set in 2054, Jackson "Jack" Mitchell is a Private First Class soldier who is discharged from military service after a mission goes bad. He is then offered a job by one of the largest private military contractors in the world.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare received positive reviews with an average score of 83%, praised for its story, game and combat mechanics, and for being a welcome departure from other games in the series with its future setting and high-tech gadgets.

If you have experience unlocking Platinums on other Call of Duty titles, then you'll probably find Advanced Warfare one of the easiest in the series. The game can be completed in one playthrough if Veteran mode is selected, with a chapter select to mop-up remaining offline trophies. The difficulty of the Exo Survival co-op mode entirely depends on both yours, and your team's, skills. Overall, a fairly average Platinum in terms of both time and challenge.

Expect around 20-25 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 have a separate list from those on the PS3.

If you're in a rush for the Platinum and wish to avoid two playthroughs, then start your game on Veteran difficulty, which is the hardest mode. If you have experience playing the difficult mode on other Call of Duty games, than Vetaran on Advanced Warfare shouldn't pose too much of a challenge.

During your playthrough, you may wish to collect all 45 pieces of Intel for both the History In The Making and Ferrum Absconseum trophies, simply to save time later. Check out the locations guides under our Links tab for help with this.

There are also a few level-specific trophies which, if you want, you can work on during your initial playthrough. Check out the Call of Duty Advanced Warfare trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details. However, keep in mind that nothing is missable, and so these level-specific trophies can be obtained later using the chapter select.

Once you've finished the campaign on Veteran difficulty, it's time to use the chapter select and mop-up all the remaining miscellaneous offline trophies. Again, check out the Call of Duty Advanced Warfare trophy guide links under the Links tab to see what you're still missing and their requirements.

With that all done, it's time to collect the remaining five online trophies, where you'll be teamed up with other co-op players and fight your way through waves of enemies. The difficulty of this entirely depends on both yours, and your teammates, skills. With good co-op partners, it's possible to unlock these remaining trophies in just a few hours. Call of Duty World at War Trophy Guide

Call of Duty World at War Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ****  A first-person action shooter taking place during WWII, and the fifth in the fifth in the Call of Duty series. Arguably the most difficult in the series thus far, particularly completing a playthrough on its hardest mode.

Call of Duty: World at War **** 45 Treyarch U.S. 30 12 2 3 20

Call of Duty: World at War

Considered the fifth in the Call of Duty series, World At War is a first-person action shooter taking place during World War II. The player is Private C. Miller of the United States Marine Corp who, after his rescue from a Japanese POW, is taken to various locations during the ending days of the second world war.

The game's characters are voiced by several celebrity actors such as Gary Oldman and Kiefer Sutherland. World At War was well received by critics, gaining an average rating of 87%, particularly praised for its multiplayer mode.

While Modern Warfare 3 is considered one of the easier games in the Call of Duty series, World At War is perhaps the most difficult. There are only 3 online trophies, which can be obtained quickly with a boosting partner. Yet the offline trophies will give you quite a bit of trouble, mainly completing the game on its hardest difficulty mode, as you will be bombarded with grenades and other attacks, dying relentlessly towards that Platinum.

A challenging game to complete, even for first-person shooter experts.

If you're in a hurry for that Platinum, you can collect all the offline trophies in one playthrough. This means selecting Veteran mode, and making sure you find all the mission-specific trophies along the way. See the Call of Duty World at War trophy guide links under our Links tab for help with those.

However, if you feel that collecting those trophies while playing Veteran mode is a bit frustrating (and many of you will!) then we recommend selecting the regular mode first. The story itself is not very long, and can easily be completed in a day. It's up to you on how confident you are in your first-person shooter skills. The only online trophy which may give you some trouble is Blue Ribbon, which requires you to come in first place in a 4-player competitive co-op match. If you're used to playing first-person shooters, then this shouldn't be too much of a problem after some trial and error. Otherwise, check out the boosting forums we've posted under our Links tab to find a boosting buddy.
