Battlefield 1
Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter, and despite the title, is the fifteenth installment in the Battlefield series. Set during World War I and based on historical events, players use an assortment of weapons from that era, as well as control vehicles such as tanks, armored trucks, and torpedo boats. The game also includes online multiplayer which supports up to 64 players.
Designed as six separate war stories taking place during events between 1915-1918, players control members of the Harlem Hellfighters who must defend their position against the German invasion in France, participate in the Battle of Cambrai, play as an American pilot, a member of the Italian Arditi unit in Northern Italy, as an Australian messenger during the Gallipoli Campaign, and as a Bedouin rebel working with British intelligence officer T.E. Lawrence.
Battlefield 1 received positive reviews with an average score of 89%, praised for its WWI themed setting, story, and multiplayer mechanics, though criticized by some for the shortness of the single-player campaign.
Unlocking the Platinum is a fairly average feat in terms of both challenge and time required. While the single-player trophies could technically be unlocked in one playthrough, most players will probably do this in two; one on Easy to get the bulk of the trophies, and another on Hard. Completing the game on Hard mode can be challenging at times, but is certainly doable. There are ten online trophies, though these are rather straight forward and do not require boosting.
Expect around 30-35 hours for the Platinum, depending on your first-person shooter skills.
Hard mode is available from the beginning, and if you are confident in your first-person shooter skills, then you could try completing it while also going for the other trophies. However, if you prefer to get warmed-up first, and unlock those miscellaneous trophies while not having to worry about the difficulty, then we recommend completing the single-player campaign in two playthroughs.
If you select to complete the game in two playthroughs, we recommend beginning on Easy mode. Play each of the six stories, while making sure to complete each of their set of challenges in order to unlock all the Codex Entries. Be sure to check out the Battlefield 1 trophy guide links under our Links tab to see which challenges must be met for each set of Codex Entries.
You will also need to find all 66 collectibles in the form of Field Manuals for the Enough For A Library trophy. Lastly, there are also a few kill-related and miscellaneous trophies you’ll want to collect during this first playthrough, as well. Again, check out the Battlefield 1 trophy guide links for more details.
Next, if you haven’t done so already, it’s time for your Hard mode playthrough. This will unlock The War To End All Wars trophy, and will be stacked with The Great War trophy for completing it on Normal.
Finally, there are ten online multiplayer trophies to unlock. Most of these are quite straight forward, and involve ranking up each of the four classes to Rank 2, while also reaching an overall Rank 10. You will also need to win at least one Operation for the Operations trophy, kill an enemy Scout using a bolt action rifle for the Counter-Sniper trophy, and complete 25 Squad Orders for the Play The Objective trophy. For the most part, these do not really require boosting. However, if you are looking for a boosting partner, check out the forums under our Links tab.
