Leaves are falling from the trees, and Halloween is a few weeks away. To celebrate the upcoming festival of ghouls and goblins, Sony is releasing a game certain to make you quake in your boots – as well as two other random titles. And so, here is the PlayStation Plus free games October 2024 line-up, available for download on Tuesday, October 1.

First, for the PS5, there is the Dead Space remake. Developed by Motive Studio and released in 2023, the game is a remake of the 2008 Dead Space on the PS3, back when trophies were still a novelty. Play as Isaac Clarke as he battles an array of alien monsters while he fights with his own internal demons. This remake features various changes including voice lines from the main character, more gore, and a few other surprises.

Next, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, a visual novel developed by Team Salvato and first released in 2017. Play as the protagonist who reluctantly joins a high school literature club, get to know the members, and woo one of them into becoming your girlfriend, while surviving the surprising horror elements (yes, horror) within the story.

Lastly, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s WWE 2K24, the professional wrestling game by Visual Concepts, and the 24th installment in the overall series. The game includes both arcade and simulation gameplay, gimmick matches, and online multiplayer.

All three titles in the PlayStation Plus free games October 2024 line-up have platinum trophies to unlock.

Among them, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is by far the quickest and easiest platinum to obtain. Since this is a visual novel, the platinum can be nabbed in about 10-15 hours with a guide, depending on how quick you can read.

Unlocking the platinum for WWE 2K24 is arguably average in difficulty, though will require over 50 hours of gameplay. It should be noted that there are 13 online trophies to obtain, and it has been reported to be difficult in finding online players – which means you may need to find a boosting partner. Also, it has already been announced that the online servers for WWE 2K24 will shut down on September 30, 2025. After which, the 13 online trophies, and therefore the platinum, will become unobtainable.

Lastly, unlocking the platinum for the Dead Space remake can be fairly challenging, especially if it is your first time to play. Though it is possible to unlock the platinum in two playthroughs, it is recommended to do it in three. Expect roughly 30-35 hours of gameplay for this one.

PlayStation Plus Free Games September 2024

If it is too hot to play sports outside, Sony has some free sport-related titles to enjoy indoors. Without further ado, here is the PlayStation Plus free games September 2024 line-up which will be available for download on Tuesday, September 3.

First, for the die-hard sports fans, there is MLB The Show 24, the latest in this baseball series by San Diego Studio, and first released six months ago. The game includes around 400 new animations, new baseball rules for the new season including Pitch clock and bigger base sizes, and a career mode with female players.

Next, for those who prefer a little magic with their sports, there is Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, developed by Unbroken Studios and based on the broomstick-riding game found in the Harry Potter series. Players can customize their character, and select from four different positions in both offline and competitive multiplayer.

Lastly, for those who have zero interest in sports, there is Little Nightmares 2, the sequel to the 2017 title developed by Tarsier Studios. This horror platformer has players controlling Mono, a young boy trapped in a broken world, attempting to help Six from fading away.

All three of the PlayStation Plus free games September 2024 line-up have platinum trophies to unlock.

Among these, obtaining the platinum for MLB The Show 24 is arguably the quickest and easiest. The adjustable sliders can make for easy gameplay, and requires only around 7-8 hours of gameplay.

The platinum for Little Nightmares 2 is also not particularly difficult, especially if you are following an online guide. Only around 8-10 hours of gameplay are required for this one.

Lastly, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions has a few tricky trophies which brings the overall difficulty of this platinum up to merely average. There are only two online trophies to worry about, and neither of them require boosting. Expect around 20 hours of gameplay to unlock all the trophies.

PlayStation Plus Free Games August 2024

Spending your summer defeating final bosses on crushing mode getting you down? Well, if you need to take a break from getting those tough platinum trophies, Sony has the answer for you. Here is the PlayStation Plus free games August 2024 line-up which include some none-too-difficult platinums to unlock. These games will be available for download on Tuesday, August 6.

First, there’s LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, available for both the PS4 & PS5. This 2022 LEGO-themed action adventure is the sixth installment in the LEGO Star Wars game series, adapting all nine films from The Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker. The game features hundreds of playable characters, while allowing the players to play through the three trilogies in any order.

Next, there’s Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach, available for both the PS4 & PS5. This 2021 survival horror developed by Steel Wool Studios is the ninth main installment in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. Players control a boy named Gregory who must survive in a shopping mall against hostile animatronic mascots and the night guards, until the sun comes up.

Finally, available for the PS4 only, there’s Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. In this 2021 action RPG with platforming elements developed by Japanese makers Adglobe and Live Wire, players control Lily, the last surviving priestess who searches out to find a cure for the rain which turn all living things into undead.

The quickest and easiest platinum of the three belongs to Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach. Following a guide should make this platinum relatively easy, and requires only around 20 hours of gameplay.

Next, obtaining the platinum for Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is about average difficulty, but with a guide, will only take around 20-25 hours of gameplay.

Finally, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has arguably the easiest platinum of the three, though it is a long game with plenty of collectibles to find. This one is ranked last of the three, simply because of the 100 hours of gameplay required.

PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2024

School is out for some of us, and for others it may mean a holiday from work. For those of you with some free time this month, it’s time to catch up on our trophy hunting. To help with this, Sony has unveiled their PlayStation Plus free games July 2024 line-up which will be available next week on Tuesday, July 2.

First, there’s Borderlands 3, the first-person action shooter with RPG elements, developed by Gearbox Software. Shoot and loot your way across the Borderlands as you take on a crazed ult known as The Children of the Vault. As with the previous entries, Borderlands 3 allows for single-player, as well as online and split-screen co-op.

Next, there’s NHL 24, last year’s ice hockey simulation game by EA Vancouver. New features include full crossplay for Hockey Ultimate Team and World Of Chel, as well as new control skill moves.

Lastly, there’s Among Us developed by Innersloth. Described as an online party-game in space, players control cartoon astronauts who are either Crewmates, or one of the Imposters. Successfully vote out the Imposters before you find yourself betrayed.

Among the PlayStation Plus free games July 2024 line-up, all three games have platinum trophies to unlock. Also, all three games are available for both the PS4 and PS5.

Obtaining the platinum for Among Us is the quickest and easiest of the three. If you have four players to boost with, the platinum can be unlocked in only 4-5 hours. Since this game is cross-plat, boosting can be done if you have the game on multiple devices. Otherwise, expect a bit more luck and around 20 hours for the platinum without boosting.

Getting the platinum for Borderlands 3 is slightly below-average in terms of difficulty. There are only two online trophies, and both can be unlocked in a few minutes. This one is more time-consuming than challenging, and will take around 50-60 hours of gameplay.

The platinum for NHL 24 is not particularly easy, as it includes some challenging, and even frustrating, trophies to unlock. Also, reaching level 50 in the World Of Chel can be quite a long grind. Those who have played other games in the NHL series may have better luck, but overall expect around 60-70 hours of gameplay for this one.

Lastly, in addition to the PlayStation Plus free games July 2024 line-up, Sony is also giving away a Genshin Impact Pack, which includes in-game rewards such as Primogems, Fragile Resin, and more. Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action-RPG by Chinese developer miHo Yo.

Summer is nearly upon us, and for some that might mean summer holidays are approaching as well. For those of us not planning on leaving the house, Sony will be giving us something to do. And so, there is the PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2024 line-up which will be available for download on Tuesday, June 4.

First, there is SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, last year’s 3D platformer developed by Purple Lamp, and based on the Nickelodeon animated series Spongebob SquarePants. Players control to optimistic yellow sponge and, along with his pal Patrick, take on an adventure through multiple realities called “Wish Worlds” in order to save both their friends and the town Bikini Bottom.

Next, those of you who prefer a little more physical action, there’s AEW Fight Forever, last year’s professional wrestling game developed by Yuke’s, and based on the All Elite Wrestling. This is a more arcade-style wrestling game than a simulation, including several match types such as singles, tag team, Casino Battle Royale, and Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. The game includes both a career mode, as well as online play.

Lastly, for those of you who prefer punching than grabbing, there’s Streets of Rage 4, a side-scrolling beat ‘em up developed by Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games. The game continues the original SEGA Streets of Rage trilogy, in which up to four players scroll through levels while taking on waves of enemies.

All three PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2024 titles have a platinum trophy to unlock. Also, while both SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake and AEW Fight Forever are available for both the PS4 and PS5, Streets of Rage 4 is only for the PS4.

Among these titles, the platinum for SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake is arguably the easiest to obtain, as well as the quickest. Despite needing two playthroughs for each level, the platinum can be unlocked in around 15-20 hours.

Next, getting the platinum on AEW Fight Forever is below-average difficulty as well. Also, despite the game having online play, there are no online trophies to worry about. Due to some grinding, expect around 30 hours to unlock the platinum.

Lastly, getting the platinum on Streets of Rage 4 is no easy task. This is mainly due to needing an S-rank on each mission on Hard mode. The platinum can take anywhere between 35-50 hours, depending on your skills.
