Overlord II
Overlord II is an action adventure in a fantasy setting, and a sequel to the 2007 Overlord, which was released on the PlayStation 3 before trophy support. Similar to the prequel, players control the Overlord in third-person, who commands hordes of minions to battle enemies and conquer civilizations. The game also includes online multiplayer, which was shut down in late 2012.
Taking place a generation after the prequel, the Glorious Empire has now taken over a chaotic land. The Overlad, the son of the prequel's silent Overlord, manages to escape the Glorious Empire's siege, and eventually comes of age when he can grow in strength by taking over areas before targeting the Glorious Empire.
Overlord II received fairly positive reviews, with an average score of 75%, praised for its improved multiplayer function, and the game's premise, while some reviewers complained of its camera and controls.
Overlord II was released in late June 2009, and includes 5 online trophies. Unfortunately, the servers became touch and go during late 2012, until finally becoming permanently closed. Given that these 5 online trophies can no longer be unlocked, the platinum for Overlord II is Not Obtainable.
With the servers closed, the Platinum for Overlord II is Not Obtainable, as well as the 5 online trophies. However, there are still 44 offline trophies that can be earned, so if you're interested, then read on.
The game will essentially require two playthroughs, one for The Dominator trophy, and one for The Destructor trophy, each based on a set of choices throughout the game. You'll be spending most of your time on one playthrough, particularly in the free roam afterwards to unlock the other trophies. Then, a quick second run on the other. Aside from those two trophies, you should also be wary of the Rock On, Ultimate collector, and Minion Captain trophies, which are missable. Be sure to check out the Overlord II trophy guide links under our Links tab to watch out for these.
Start your game, and make sure to play through purely as destruction or domination, in order to earn one of those two trophies by the end. Do not remain neutral. Play through the story, explore if you wish, and focus on unlocking the life force trophies, as well as finding all the minions and completing the side quests.
Once the story is complete, you can begin mopping-up the other trophies you're missing in the free roam. This might include the mistress trophies, dark crystals, minion upgrades, etc. Again, check out the trophy guides in our Links page to see what you're missing. After this stage, you should have nearly all the offline trophies.
Last, start your second playthrough, only this time make sure to select the opposite choices from your previous game, to earn either The Dominator or The Destructor trophy, depending on which one you're missing.
Unfortunately, with the online servers shut down, this is as far as you can go.
