Guitar Hero: Van Halen
Guitar Hero: Van Halen is a music rhythm game, and the third band-specific title in the Guitar Hero series. The game includes 25 songs by Van Halen, as well as another 19 songs which were selected by the Van Halen artists as their inspiration. The game supports up to 4 players selecting from lead and bass guitar, drums, and vocals, as well as an online multiplayer mode.
Guitar Hero: Van Halen received generally low scores, with an average rating of 54%, criticized for its lack of songs, and overall inferiority compared to other band-specific titles such as Guitar Hero: Metallica.
Van Halen is arguably the most difficult music game in the Guitar Hero series to Platinum. Aside from the standard 100% notes in 4-player bands and online trophies, getting five stars on all instruments on expert mode demands the highest level of skill on all three instruments.
If you have incredible Guitar Hero skills, then it's possible to platinum this game in 30-40 hours. But for most, it will take months of practice.
NOTE: You will need at least one of each instrument in your possession for the Platinum trophy.
You can start with the tutorial, which not only shows you the ropes, but will earn you the Have You Seen His Grades trophy.
Next, you can start working through Career mode, which you'll need to complete with all 4 instruments. The difficulty-level trophies are stackable, so if this isn't your first Guitar Hero game and you feel confident enough, you can start working through on Expert level. During this stage, there are a number of miscellaneous trophies you can unlock as well. Eventually, you'll need to get five stars on all songs on Expert with each of the four instruments. Feel free to leave this for later.
Then, there are the 4 Guest Artist related trophies. After you've unlocked the artist-characters in Career, you can select them under the Select Rocker menu.
Lastly, there are the 3-4 player trophies, which you can either do offline if you have enough friends with Guitar Hero skills, or find people online. Some will require expert difficulty, while many of them can be done on easy.
