Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Based on the film franchise, Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a third-person action game, staring all the lead-voice actors from the movies (minus Sigoureny Weaver) with script details written by Akryod and Ramis themselves, who also wrote the original films.
Taking place two years after the film Ghostbusters II, a PKE shockwave bursts through New York City, causing numerous ghosts to keep the team rather busy. It's soon learned that Ivo Shandor, the architect of the building once used to summon Gozer, had also designed a series of tunnels which transport ectoplasm, connected at various nodes, with the plan to merge the real world with the ghost world.
You play as a new rookie to the team, helping the Ghostbusters stop New York City from turning into an underworld. Play around with Egon's latest prototypes, track ghosts with your PKE meter, and be careful not to cross the streams!
This game originally received a 4-star rating, due to the difficulty in the online trophies. However, as of December 2012, the servers for the PlayStation 3 version of Ghostbusters were shut down, due to a lack of players. As a result, the 10 online trophies cannot be acquired, which means the Platinum for Ghostbusters: The Video Game is Not Obtainable.
The servers for the PlayStation 3 port of Ghostbusters: The Video Game went down in December 2012, which means the 10 online trophies cannot be earned. However, if you still wish to collect the offline trophies, they are not particularly difficult.
Start the game on Casual and collect as many trophies as possible towards the end. Check out the Ghostbusters The Video Game trophy guide links under our Links page for more details. Also, during your first playthrough, focus on getting the Nice Shootin' Tex! Trophy, which means doing less than $100,000 in property damage, since this is harder of the two property damage related trophies.
Once that's finished, switch to Professional mode, and go nuts doing as much damage as possible, in order to achieve The Destructor trophy. By now, you should have all the offline trophies.
Unfortunately, with the online servers shut down, this is as far as we can go.
