Demon’s Souls
First released in Japan in early 2009, then eight months later in North America, and 2010 in Europe, Demon's Souls is a third-person action RPG and a spin-off of the King's Field series by the same developer.
You play as a customed character who journeys to a dark fantasy world in which demons are spewing out of a fog, devouring mortal souls. You must set out where many have failed - to free the ravaged kingdom of Boletarian and defeat the Old One, a powerful demon which resides below the Nexus.
Killing these demons allows you to claim the devoured souls, which you use as currency to upgrade your weapons and boost your statistics. While the game is single-player, an online feature allows the player to see the "ghosts" of others and learn of secret passages, or send one another messages of warning.
The game was a smash hit in Japan, and well received in the West, with an average score of 90%, particularly for its imaginative online integration.
Most RPGs aren't easy Platinums, and Demon's Souls is no exception. It is about as time consuming as Final Fantasy XIII, but far more frustrating, and will require more than one playthrough.
If you plan on obtaining the Platinum, set aside more than 150 hours of your life. And if you do get the Platinum, congratulations! You are an RPG master.
Due to the way the stages are set up and collecting items, it is impossible to obtain the Platinum in one playthrough. It is possible to get it on your second, if you follow a specific roadmap. Rather than write it out here, we've posted a link to a great Wiki roadmap which claims to take only 10-30 hours to get 100% of the trophies.
Because of the difficulty of the game, the average gamer will probably require more than 30 hours to complete. But the Wiki roadmap is by far the quickest way to the Platinum. We've posted a link to the site under our Links tab, among many others which should help you out.
Good luck!
Demon's Soul Wiki has, by far, the best roadmap for getting the Platinum for this challenging game. If you follow it correctly, it's possible to get the Platinum during your second playthrough:
