Far Cry 2 Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ***** A first-person shooter in an open world and a sequel to Crytek’s Far Cry. While not exceptionally difficult, the Platinum is incredibly time consuming.

Far Cry 2
Far Cry 2 is an open-world first-person shooter, and a sequel to Crytek's Far Cry, despite being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, and possessing new characters and settings.
The player-character is sent to the northern territory of Leboa-Sako on a mission to assassinate the arms dealer known as The Jackal. After recuperating from a bad case of malaria, the protagonist must continue the hunt for the Jackal, while staying alive in the African landscape which is in a state of anarchy and civil war. The game also features an online mode with matches that hold up to 16 players, and a map editor.
Far Cry 2 received positive reviews, averaging a score of 84%, praised for its visuals and open-world design, as well as the AI intelligence of the NPCs.
This game ranks alongside Grand Theft Auto IV and DC Universe Online as one of the rarest Platinums out there, and with good reason. While not exceptionally challenging, the amount of time required to put into this game for 100% is incredible.
The offline trophies alone will take up quite a lot of time as you must scour the entire map searching for collectibles and performing missions - not to mention complete the main story. While time consuming, this can be done in one playthrough if you follow the walkthroughs and trophy guides in our Links page. But the online trophies is where you'll be grinding the most. If you have a boosting partner, and perform the "Warlord" trick, it's possible to bring this rating down to a high 4-star, but still expect to put in over 200 hours into the game. Without a boosting partner, you're looking at nearly 400 hours.
You may want to take a leave of absence from your day-job, for this one.
The difficulty mode doesn't affect the trophies, so when you start the offline play, you may as well select the easiest mode. If you are aiming to obtain all the offline trophies in one playthrough, then you'll want to focus on completing all the available missions, as well as work towards finding all the collectibles and miscellaneous trophies before advancing through the main story. This includes finding all the audio logs, purchasing all weapons and all their upgrades, rescuing a buddy, completing a side quest for a buddy, among many others. Check out the Far Cry 2 trophy guide links under our Links tab for further details, and pay close attention to any marked as "missable." From then on out, work your way through the main quest. Hopefully by the end, you should have all 32 offline trophies completed when you beat the game.
After, you still have all the online trophies to worry about, and this is where the grinding really comes in, particularly in reaching certain ranks. If you have a boosting partner, there's a glitch in which you can earn the Warlord trophy quickly - which means unlocking Rank 30. Check out the FIRST trophy guide in our Links page to find out how this is done. However, this glitch will not unlock the Mercenary trophy, which requires a Rank 20 - that, you will still have to grind for.
Good luck!
