Mafia II
Mafia II is a third-person action game, and a direct sequel to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven released in 2002 on the PS2 and Xbox. The game is set in fictional American cities during the late 40's and early 50's.
Vito Scaletta is a petty thug and son of a poor Italian immigrant who dreams of a better life. After meeting a local criminal named Joe Barbaro, the two get involved in the world of organized crime, making a name for themselves as they climb the ranks in the mafia.
Mafia II was met with positive reviews, with an average score of 81%, praised for its exciting action, engaging story, and overall fun.
If played on Hard mode, it's possible to get the majority of the trophies - if not all - in one playthrough, with some possible mopping-up afterwards via chapter select. Hard mode is not particularly difficult, nor are the majority of the trophies. Just a bit of grinding is involved.
Overall, you could probably earn this Platinum in around 20 hours or so.
If you wish to avoid more than one full playthrough, we recommend starting the game on Hard difficulty, to unlock the Tough Nut trophy. There are some story-related trophies which you'll automatically collect along the way, but for the most part, it's up to you whether to nab all the trophies during your playthrough, or simply enjoy the story and use the chapter select after.
There are three sets of collectibles to find. Playboys for the Ladies' Man trophy, wanted posters for the Card Sharp trophy, and cars for the Petrol Head trophy. Again, it's up to you whether to use one of the collectible guides in our Links page and seek these out during your initial playthrough, or wait and use the chapter select.
After finishing the game, simply use the chapter select to unlock any last remaining trophies. Be sure to check out the Mafia II trophy guide links under our Links tab for specific details on what you need.
