Resident Evil
Resident Evil, known as BioHazard in Japan, was first released on the PlayStation One and Sega Saturn in 1996, then remastered with new graphics, voice actors, and revised puzzles for the GameCube in 2002, before being released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in early 2014 and late 2015. The game is a third-person survival horror, and the first in the Resident Evil series which introduces the characters Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Albert Wesker.
After a series of strange murders on the edge of Raccoon City, the Police Department's Special Tactics And Rescue Service (STARS) sends a team out to investigate. After contact with that team is lost, STARS sends out a second team, and learn the horrors of what happened - and the secret lurking within a nearby mansion.
The original Resident Evil Remastered received high praise with an average score of 89% for its graphics, atmosphere, realistic sounds, and overall frights.
This would be a high 2-star rating for those playing Resident Evil for the first time, and a low 2-star for players experienced with having played it either on the GameCube or even the PlayStation One, and are able to speed through the story. While there are a few trophies which can be fairly tricky, any average player should have the skills to unlock them. What the game mainly demands is time and patience, as you'll need to do a number of playthroughs - four for veteran players, though six or even seven for most.
Expect anywhere between 10-40 hours of gameplay, depending on your familiarity with the game and the number of playthroughs you do.
NOTE: The Trophies on the PS4 share the same list as those on the PS3.
There are two ways you can go about unlocking the platinum: quick and difficult, or slow and easier. A number of trophies require certain conditions to be met upon completing a playthrough, some of which can be compiled onto one playthrough. The more of these conditions you're attempting to do in one playthrough, the more difficult things will get.
If you are already experienced with the game and are prepared for the challenge, then the platinum can be earned in four playthroughs. Here is the pattern we recommend: Playthrough 1: Play as Chris on Normal mode, while using only the Knife, on a Speedrun of under 3 hours, without saving the game, and end the game by saving no one. Playthrough 2: Play as Chris on Hard mode, aiming to save everyone. Playthrough 3: Play as Jill on Survival mode, saving everyone. Playthrough 4: Play as Jill on Invisible Enemy mode, saving no one.
If you don't feel confident in getting the platinum in only four playthroughs, then you can simply divide some of these conditions into another playthrough. If you're brand new to the game and even genre, you might even with to play through the game on Easy just to simply orient yourself with Resident Evil.
Here is a longer, but easier method: Playthrough 1: Play as Chris on Easy or Normal, saving everyone. Playthrough 2: Play as Chris on Easy or Normal, saving no one. Playthrough 3: Play as Jill on Easy or Normal, saving no one. Playthrough 4: Play as Jill on Hard, saving no one. Playthrough 5: Play on Real Survival mode. Playthrough 6: Play on Invisible mode Playthrough 7: Play without saving the game. Playthrough 8: Play with using only the Knife. Playthrough 9: Play on a speedrun, completing the game in under 3 hours.
Of course, you can do a combination of these two roadmaps, depending on your skills and confidence.
Good luck!
